Looking again at the pic, those types of tapes have some slop- I think you’re right, it was about 32.5mm most likely.

Interesting GP Benrus from the early 50’s. Radial dial is wonderful, the lugs aren’t turtle or crab, let’s call them scarab. Shows some wear through on the lugs and bezel, but it’s even and has a nice well worn look. Throw a casual leather or suede strap on it and it makes it look fun and not sad.

We’ve seen this one before- the Elgin with the concentric dial and cross-hatched bezel. Back up again so probably ripe for an offer. This is great looking watch with stellar radium lume pips and dial....and that bezel...yum.

Nice gp Elgin from the end of their glory days of made in USA which puts it in the 50’s. Dial isn’t quite linen...papyrus? Some slight moisture to the crown side of the dial but not too bad. Pics suck but you can get the idea. Seller is a picker, probably would take a fairly low offer just to move it- worth a try.

After 3 months of lurking i have finally caved in and dipped my toe in the shallow end 😀
Now comes the waiting as it needs to cross the pond, fingers crossed.
I dont like discussing items that are in transit, bad things tend to happen when i get ahead of myself.
Pictures will be posted when it gets here.
A big thank you to @JwRosenthal for posting it & to all members that contribute to this thread 👍

Glad to see you getting comfortable with the vintage Ken, totally understand not wanting to jinx it. You need to set up an avatar- you aren’t a lurker anymore.

Brit made 5 Jewel Smiths. Plating looks pretty good, case looks sharp and the dial looks pretty good, possible some spotting around the outer sector by the crown, but pics suck- assume the worst, hope for the best. These are usually around 32mm so expect that. Love the red tipped second hand.

This may not be a “deal” but could be with an offer- SS UG tank. Dial has some issues but is overall evenly patina’d so may be appealing to some. Case has nice edges and the stepped bezel is what this one is all about. Actually dig it on the mesh bracelet but of course these pop on croc or lizard.

Today is tank day.
1957 Bulova GP tank. Dial looks original on this one -pips are all there but hands don’t appear to be lumed- most likely replacement but look to be the correct style. The case size is what’s interesting on this one, seller claims 28mm, even if that’s with the crown, that still on the large side for these at 26mm.
This may be another to try on the tank style and see if you want to jump to a Longines, Cartier or JLC eventually. If not, gift it to someone who will love it.

Cheap diver alert!!
Elgin SS Diver with day/date and lovely slate dial. Outer track has some missing sections (not sure why as the lume looks good), may have been cleaned and relumed at some point. Even comes with a vintage tropic style strap. Can’t verify if bezel is correct but looks great. And for under $125 (make offer) who cares! This isn’t gonna last long.

Eventually the <34mm cases are going to come back in style.

We'll all be millionaires.

Although it's more likely to be from inflation than demand.

Well I won this one, with the minimum bid.
Thanks to Nepomuceño.
Looks like despite a number of watchers I'm the only bidder.
Looks to be in fine condition and said to run great and keep accurate time. The seller has a 99.6% rating so I guess his description is fairly trustworthy.
Dial looks very nice in the photos, very good lighting.
I suspect the hands were recently lumed, if so that would suggest that it might also have been recently serviced.

I don’t think that’s a relume, I have seen a few of these Caravelle’s with dipped rather than filled hands.
Good score and congrats.

I am pretty sure I know which one you bought, because it showed up in my watch list as sold. I think it will be very nice. However, I just posted a picture of watch that has not yet arrived in the what did you buy today thread and you got me worried.
