·Interesting how they got "Vietnam" in the listing title for a non-Vietnam era watch. Kind of reminds of folks who list (say) a crap Honda motorcycle as "Honda Motorcycle--not Ducati, Triumph, Norton, BMW."

Haven’t seen a good GG-w113 in a while at a fair price. This one is in outstanding condition, lume is bright yellow with no ashiness, parkerized finish is even- solid watch. Seller says keeping time and BIN price is excellent. Birth year watch for 1978. If I didn’t have 2 of these already, I would buy this one.

Buy it now for $315 was removed on this one. Guess all the follows made him realize he’d have better luck with the auction. I almost pulled the trigger on this too.
Well that piece of shit- nobody buy it then, fυck that dude.
Edit- I see someone had bid- it automatically cancels the BIN when someone bids- not his fault. BUT if someone here bid hoping to get it cheaper- you should have just bought it at $315, that was a good deal. Now it will be a fight.
Strange. Pretty sure it had that 1 bid on it the whole time I was looking at it this morning. Maybe an update timing issue or something. I’m a eBay noob so that’s good to know. I need to save my pennies for what I really want so all good for me.
It wasn’t there when I posted it (not in the pic I posted).
This is an eBay etiquette issue that really irks me. An item has a low starting bid and a very fair BIN. Someone who is passively interested throws out the low bid hoping they get it and usually don’t bid above the starting price- basically a tourist hoping to score a deal on the cheap but not really committed to wanting to go the distance. It blows it for the rest of us- that person is an asshole.

I throw low ball offers and sometimes get lucky, if you really want something snap it instantly, don't be like this guy. I got a nice GG-w113 for $250 a couple months ago, so let's hope someone also gets a good deal this time.
Well now there is time for me to change my mind and get into a bidding war. I’m not paying more than $315 though. 😎
Cheap diver alert!
Name on the dial doesn’t matter with these skin divers, this one has same French case as used by the Helbros and Sea Pearl divers of the mid 60’s, same dial as a dozen other brands and nice broad arrow hands. Seller says he had the bezel made to fit with new insert- it looks fab, and frankly for the price- I couldn’t care that it’s not original. Has make offer- this is a nice watch for little money

Ha! I’ve been watching this one somewhat selfishly…I think you may have put me over the edge.
It’s sold- did you pick it up?
These are probably some of the nicest cases of the 60’s skin divers- 37ish mm across (the Goldilocks size for vintage divers) downturned and drilled lugs. You can always tell them by the profile and the flourishes on the back engraving
Oh- and they take 19mm straps. The Uncle seiko tropic 19’s are perfection and most of his 19mm bracelets fit the lug profile well with a little tweak (yay for hollow endlinks).
😗😗
Thanks for all the info - yes I did end up picking it up! This thread (and your encouragement) has finally made me a victim, haha! My son has been asking for “a real watch” -he’s very young still- so this should be a nice birthday surprise. I’ll probably make sure it’s working right first 😗
Perhaps a Casio first like the rest of us did-
Keep the vintage divers dry
Diamond in the rough:
Nice stainless Wyler Incaflex-even though not marked, this would fit into the Tri-sport family with that bezel. Factory crown at 4, champagne sunburst dial with black date wheel and the gold bezel is unusual- willing to bet it’s solid 9k. Seller says runs and stops so needs a service- these used modified ETA’s so are pretty strait forward. Crystal needs a wet sand to get it clear but this should clean up nicely.

"Lifeguard". Now that is a great name for a vintage skin diver! Someone needs to make a Skinmaster...Yema, are you listening?? To go along with the Wristmaster??😉 Apologies, it has been a slow morning...
