lol- nice one. It was a good deal for a Caravelle diver and love a tuxedo dial on a diver
Fairly high quality magazine as well

Oops, I posted a re-dailed GP watch here. I am retracting my recommendation. ::facepalm1::

This looks beautiful, but I wonder what the dial restoration that they mention involved. For they money, it still looks like a good deal to me, but I may have a bias since I have been looking for a similar GP for a while now.

When you look closer, it is pretty clearly a re-dial. It is well done, but once you see it, it is hard to un-see it.

I should add that it is clearly a chrome case and not all stainless like the seller says. My apologies to everyone for the poor recommendation. I apparently don't give the same level of scrutiny if I am not serious about buying it. This is not a conscience choice, but it is bad on me.

I have a weakness for crosshair dials from the 1950s, and here's a nice steel (HF case!) automatic for sale for €275 over on the uhrforum...somebody please buy this before I lose my resolve:

Tutus Super Compressor on the bay. These don’t come up often and have one of the most attractive dials of any SC with the tuxedo outer ring, date at 6 and stellar dial layout. I own this exact watch and paid $900 for it years ago and felt lucky to get it for that. Asking isn’t bad and has make offer so may let it for for $1k which would be a deal.

Yours is nicer. The ebay one looks repainted, though perhaps the pics are just bad.

It’s original- they just pumped the contrast up. Plus mine is in bright sunlight which washes out the dial- it looks black in shade.

I suspect each image was taken on 4x zoom on a cell phone, which does not do wonders at all for image quality. They all look borderline water painting. It looks like they boosted the contrast to sharpen up the image, which is evidenced in the two wrist shots. It also does not help that the seller took those images/video at the beach, into the sun, during a sunset when the sun is lowest. Trying to see through all of that, I am willing to bet the dial is actually pretty good with slightly yellow lume- albeit not as yellow as James' but not as green as the images allude to.

I have no doubt it’s probably near identical to mine with lume around the same- perhaps a Pantone chart would show slight variation.
These Titus SC’s are not very common and as I said, probably the best looking dial on one of these- period, I love the Bulova’s, Wittnauers, Benrusususus(Benri?) etc, but none have the 12/3/9, white outer ring and date at 6 all on one watch. If I didn’t have mine, I would buy this one.

Here's one from a stand-up OF member, and regular contributor/enabler to this thread! C'mon folks, please snag this one so I'm not tempted to do so myself!

I am trying to be disciplined in my purchases, but this is really tempting. Especially at that price! Anything diverish in all stainless goes for $500+ in my observations. @JwRosenthal is giving the friends and family price here.

I have a few target watches I am searching for, and the watch kitty needs enough funds so that I can jump when the opportunity arises. Tempting as it may be I have to keep that discipline. Although, I must say that Wyler you sold me a while back is among my favorites. It is at least in the top four as far as wrist time goes.

Discipline is so over rated…buy it so I don’t have to compromise mine please!!

Very nice 3818A up on the bay. Unlike the A17, this has the cathedral hands which I think are far cooler than the syringe hands. Seller says runs but sluggish- needs a service. Any watchmaker can service these but if you buy it and need an expert- I can give the info of the guy I use for my mil watches. Asking is fair considering the condition- would be a nice grab at $250
