If anyone is looking for a nice dress watch, this gold-plated Zodiac looks stunning. Condition is awesome, movement has (allegedly) recently been serviced. Great looker and pretty good value for the money. Seller accepts offers. This would be a wonderful catch at around $250

Here’s an interesting one for the small wristed or female members-
Midsized C-cased manual wind Seamaster Cosmic sporting a stunning sunburst slate dial with applied indices. If this were 37mm it would be double the price. Seller is one most of us are familiar with- has make offer so may be worth a shot. Christmas/Hannukah/Festivus is right around the corner- we must know someone who would love this one.

I don’t know who the seller is but, since the seller'is one most of us are familiar with', perhaps someone could get him to post decent photos of what might actually be a nice watch

Well preserved bumper automatic in a 33mm steel screwback case, dating to 1950...mirror numerals, raised indexes, long leaf hands, plated movement...nice price! Only £145 for those in the UK (about $162) - great starter watch for those dipping a toe into vintage!

That’s a sweet watch! Totally original design too, unlike anything we have ever seen 🙄
If anyone asks “is that a Rolex” when you’re wearing it you can proudly say “ hell no, it’s a much rarer Seiko”
Aaagh! You're making me want to buy it, and I posted it here because I'm trying to stop buying watches for a while and wanted others to know about it!

(Note to self: stop looking at ebay watch listings).

You have done the right thing- post if for the masses and walk away. The whole point of this thread is to post watches we “would” buy if we weren’t trying to rein it in.

edit: I say that, but there have been a few I have posted here, went back and looked at it, then bought it anyway. 👎

I'm guilty of the same...no shame in that!

He either is watching this thread or saw the watching count go up and has gotten greedy. These people can fυck right off.

Now 265. 18% increase in a matter of a few hours.
Yup. Greedy asshole who is seeing the number of views it has gotten and trying to capitalize. I put sellers like this on my radar and make it a point to never buy from them

Seller was obviously happy with his first BIN when he/she listed but yes, the temptation to squeeze more of out it because of the interest this thread generated was probably too much.

I also struggle when an auction I am ready to seriously bid on gets pulled. Just happened with some early Speedy parts that had me excited. When I sell I've always been on the mindset to let the auction run its course even when there are offers coming in through the messages. Rant over.

I certainly sympathize with y'all's complaints about eBay sellers. I agree that various practices can be questionable to down right unethical. I think I am a little more forgiving, because so many policies on eBay really screw over the seller. I do hate it though when an auction gets pulled at the last minute and the item gets re-listed.

Another thing that used to annoy me was items being listed with opening bids that are higher than current market value. I have been looking for one of a few types of Accutron Spaceviews and found one on eBay with an opening bid that was annoyingly high. I messaged the seller and said "I am interested in the watch but I think your starting bid is a bit high." He said to make an offer and we were able to negotiate a fair price. See:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/accutron-spaceview-with-wide-chapter-ring.149572/

I learned that the opening bid is not necessarily the lowest price the seller will take. I guess they are just trying to catch that one naive bidder.
