Just on that watch a above.
It says 17 Rubis on the dial, but the movement says 25 jewels ?
Does that mean something has been changed ?

Not necessarily. Many small brands chose cases, handsets, dials and movements out of catalogs and sometimes they didn't match the movement with what was printed on the chosen dial. It's actually fairly common amongst these smaller brands.

I’ve always liked these a lot but not cheap for the coupon club thread lol

Love the design but never understood the need for a date feature on these. I guess they wouldn’t sell much without but it always strikes me as out of place!

I'm a huge Sinn fan and previously owned a 556, which again, now I regret selling. I like how this brand is entering—not withstanding it's true vintage pieces—neo-vintage territory with many of its models. Such a good brand.

Everyone love the whale!

Bulova Sea King with stainless cushion case, lovely looking silver sunburst dial with puffy lume and of course- the whale, seller says runs and stops after an hour which may be him giving it a shake and letting it sit (not winding it manually) or just needs a service…which they all do anyway. This looks like it should clean up beautifully.

Nice looking 34mm stainless UG- about as clean and simple as they come. Manual wind so not as painful as the micro-rotors to service. Seller is a regular watch seller with lots of feedback so should be pretty transparent. Price seems fair to me for what it is but these aren’t my area of expertise.

I’ve bought from this guy before and he is a stand up guy. My watch ran but none of the hands would move. He responded quickly and offered a refund. I liked the watch and wanted to keep it. He offered to pay for a service and paid for my shipping. I was a tad skeptical since I was sending it to his watch guy but it came back and running great.

That’s good to hear. I love when we know who the good guys are. I had a similar experience with Fourthstreetgoodies who is another seller we see often.
And hands not moving, but watch running is canon wheel (the pinion the hands are mounted to and it’s seat is under the dial). It’s usually a crimp fit to a post and needs to be re-crimped if it’s not damaged (obviously by someone who is skilled aka watchmaker). I have actually had at least 3 watches come to me with this issue via the post. I think it has something to do with sonic vibration in the cargo hold during air transit but have been told I’m wrong by those with more knowledge…but it keeps happening…sooo….

Which begs the question… what style are you collecting now?
Well, I’m not supposed to be collecting anything these days as we are a one salary household right now- but divers and field watches….and some other shit….but nothing- I’m not collecting anything! 😗👎

and some other shit … could cover a lot of watches!
Watch collecting can be like free-form jazz. You start with a theme and you go where it takes you. Sometimes you come back to the theme, or it can take an entirely different direction.

A truly rare bird, Stainless Lord Elgin 760 auto- one of the very few made in USA automatic movements. This one is particularly clean and a lovely example. seller says running well and 36mm with crown so assume 33-34mm. If I were still collecting this style of watch, I would grab this.
