I couldn't resist taking it. Hopefully it will run better after a service by my watchmaker.

I had a chat with the seller and he seems like a top bloke. He has another really nice skin diver similar to your Alpha. I already have one like it otherwise I would have been very tempted to buy it too. I think it will look a lot better in real life than in the photos.

Glad you grabbed it. I’ve seen a lot of chrome plated Watertrip’s and this one was stainless- so well worth it I think despite the patina (which looks nice actually).

Stainless steel or possibly Staybrite, unpolished, clam-shell(!) cased Coton Aqua-Matic for next to nothing. If I wasn't scaling down on radium watches, this would have been gone.
Aaand it's gone.

Nice looking 1966 Accutron 218 with silver dial and factory crown. Seller says “recently serviced”- whatever that means.
Nice one. I'm considering getting a watch with that kind of movement.

The 218 is apparently easier to service than the 214, but the 214 is the more historically important hummer..

It’s a quick release strap, in case it gets caught when you eject from your Starfighter. Safety feature.

I own a very similar watch. This one is in Western Ukraine, maybe you get a nice watch, maybe you donate to a struggling Ukrainian person. I was inspired by people who have been renting Air BnB's located in Kiev. I also have been contacting sellers located Russia with a message of peace and sharing pictures of the war. I know their access to information is limited. I have received both positive and negative responses from sellers.
