Apologies, that figure was for a Cyma I was going to post here! Not sure how that half written post got appended there.
Stainless Navy star! With bracelet?? If so, let’s step into the other room 😉

Correct!
One pic put me off posting as one of the lugs appears to be fairly damaged in one shot, can’t be sure if it’s just a trick if the light.
I have no use for that bracelet personally!

If it’s the one that says it’s been “restored” and has 2 gold plated stretch links mixed in, I passed on posting that one too

This is the one I was thinking about

May even had bought it just for the bracelet but that’s not looking so hot either

Definitely, and not really visible from any of the other photos!!
Without that maybe a good but for someone at the lower price.
I paused as I got this at the weekend. Needs some TLC but so rare to see a nice dial on this vintage of Cyma I couldn’t resist.
(As I’m in Japan most of my purchases like this are on Yahoo Japan)

FANCYFANCYFANCYFANCYFANCYFANCY

This is a nice gold filled Benrus tank with very FANCY lugs and faceted crystal. Dial has typical patina (may clean up a little with the right touch) but is even and in nice shape with the Tri-color banner intact. Seller is sending mixed messages, says with box, but no picture, says serviced in the header but doesn’t mention it in listing…not sure what to think.
But, you can’t beat the price for an attractive running Benrus tank, and he has make offer.

And did I mention it is very fancy.

Cute in appearance but mean in quality. Early 1950s high quality (chronometer!) ladies watch. Ends in 2h, still in double digits.

I have a gents chronometer example with this case.

This looks incredible. Does anyone have some background info?
https://www.ebay.nl/itm/Timex-Vinta..._trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276&autorefresh=true
Well, I saw this one too- and don’t know the Timex market at all so don’t know if the price is good or not nor the rarity of this model (seems like a lot for a timex to me, but shit- $3k+ seems like a lot for a Speedy to me).
My issue is that he states :
“This example is offered in immaculate condition, with an original BonKlip bracelet”

I don’t know Timex, but I do know Bonklip’s. First issue is the bracelet has 16mm enlinks and the watch has 18mm lugs- he is very careful to center the endlinks on the spring bars to minimize the size difference (they usually justify to one side of the other when they are too small). I’m sure many wore them like this if they couldn’t get the correct size (like the 19mm endlinks for the Komfit on 20mm speedy’s) but 16mm Bonkips are abundant and 18mm are rare.
If this is a genuine Bonklip, I would want to see markings that show that (cause it’s not on the clasp). There are three Bonklip styles that are more valuable than others- the Branded “Bonklip” which was made in England and was a trademarked name (like Kleenex, the name has been co-opted to identify the style), the Gay Freres and the third is escaping me (it has letters- please help my coffee deprived brain).
If genuine from any of the big three, he would have shown pics of the markings. As one of the name brands, the bracelet is worth about $100-150 on its own (becuase 16mm). Otherwise it is just a Bonklip “style” and would only be worth about $50-100…and it’s still the wrong size.

You need to send that bracelet to me for disposal.

…..alternatively, do you have a suitable watch to fit that needs disposal? 😀

For our UK brothers and sisters, don’t say I never think about you:

Spectacular stainless Watches of Switzerland Seafarer in EPSA compressor case. Silver sunburst dial, nice little lume pips, original cross-hatched crown, and the back engraving is razor sharp- this looks about as honest and “unpolished” as they come. Date stamp is 1962, and these compressor cases wear beautifully (I know @Bill Sohne has a thing for these). Price is spot on for a high quality Compressor in great shape.

Seller offered it for £125, I just watched it and then received the offer.

Yup, I just got the offer too, that’s under $200US shipped for that thing. If someone here doesn’t buy it in the next couple hours, I will.

Any “military” style works on these. They were actually very popular with Pilot watches (or chronos) in the 40’s and 50’s.
(This Elgin is at the spa currently)

Would have looked fab on that Bovet

The current “Bonklip” by Forstner is awesome, has nice heft and weight, silky smooth on the wrist, modern lug sizes (19-22), the bracelet itself is wider so less lolipop effect and the clasp is far better than the originals. Plus they kept the slotted endlinks which allow you to “Klip” them over fixed spring bars which was their whole design for military watches.

But the Vintage ones have their charm- slimmer and very light, a little jingly and fussy, and can really give the lolipop look when you get the ones with the 12mm bracelet width and 16-18 endlinks. On real vintage military pieces (particular European ones) there is nothing era appropriate that comes close
