Here is a nice funky-chunky late 60’s charmer.
Stainless Jules Jergensen cushion cased chrono with white regatta timer dial (the red zone on the minute counter gave you the countdown from first horn to second). For those that don’t know JJ, they were a high end department store brand, usually featured in the better department stores of the day.
This one is in spectacular shape with sharp case, radial brushing on top and the sharp engraved back (these backs are very delicately etched so any polishing and they vanish). Price is not bad for a running chrono of this era, but seller has make offer so worth a shot at a few shekels off.

You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet-

Spectacular Zenith Pilot with integrated bracelet and TV dial. This thing is an absolute statement of mid-century style. Brushing looks original, back is unpolished, dial looks amazing with bright yellow lume- this thing will be a show piece as these early 70’s pieces eventually get their recognition for bold style. Pricing seems in line with similar Omega pieces of the era but does have make offer.
Seller doesn’t seem to specify bracelet length so it would be worth verifying as you can’t put a strap on it- but who would want to, this is all about the arm chunk factor.

So as we all know, this thread is not about dumpster diving (thanks Ash) but about sharing good values. For some of us, we only post watches we would buy ourselves if it were something that would fill a hole in our collection or we had the means to buy it- this one falls into both catagories for me.
Brought to us by our own @Kargol - a fantastic stainless Zenith El Primero. This one has been on my list for a while but I’m not in a position to buy at the moment- someone here really needs to keep this in the family.
As the Daytona is to the pimped out G-wagon, this is to a classic air cooled 911.
The price is spot on, about as low as I have seen them and the bracelet is a massive plus.

This wouldn’t be a great holiday self-gift.

Thank you a million times for your nice words @JwRosenthal ! ;)

Cheap diver. But prob only cheap 1 jewel movement and chrome case but it has got an expensive skin diver look

https://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-GE...280491?hash=item44657a27ab:g:f5QAAOSwjfBfc~PJ

I chuckled when I came across this.
I'm the guy who ended up buying it! You were spot on: cheap chromed case and cheap mov't, but it cleaned up well with a bit of polywatch and an old rubber rally style strap I had lying around. After a de-mag it runs ok-ish; within 1 min p/d.
I paid $50AUD + postage from memory, so it was a good buy!
It looks like it spent a bit of time in the bottom of a drawer or jewellery box cos it's in great nick cosmetically. I'm going to hang onto it, might even get my watchmaker to look at it one day..! Cheers.

Gold filled 60s Tissot that looks like the seller took pictures of in a movie theater as the lights went down. It's hard to tell what is there so could ask for better pictures. Has make an offer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Tissot-Vin...p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0

I saw that one and thought about sharing myself. The pictures as you say are not so good. Maybe let it ride a week or two and then ask for better pictures. I doubt it will sell with those, and a little time might make offers more attractive.

Yep. Definitely one that will sit for a while and then go for a better price if it does.

EDIT: I JUST NOTICED IT IS MISSING A CROWN. II would not have posted it here if I noticed that. Corrosion of the keyless works could be an issue.

For the female dumpster divers among us, or perhaps for the guys looking to make a sickeningly cute his and hers Vantage diver set.

What an astounding dial!

Yes very cool, mid century watch. Wittnauer is not a bad watch either. They were Longines lower cost brand.

This guy is back up- very nice stainless Clebar (Zodiac). Bevels look nice and sharp, dial looks excellent under the crystal which should polish out well. Nice watch at asking, would be a great watch at around $100

Edit- on closer look it looks like some of the damage is on the dial around the center and not the crystal. It’s not horrible but the patina may turn some off. Would still be a nice watch at $100

Wakmann Braille watch in chrome plated case- these are a fun horological novelty. This looks to be in very nice shape, but seller doesn’t say if it’s working or not. These are typically small in the 32mm range, but they do vary. @DaveK has a Braille watch on a bund strap to add a little bulk, the irony of a watch for the blind on a pilots strap wasn’t lost.

I took the plunge on this one. The seller accepted my offer of $35.

It is 31mm. Looks virtually unworn. Condition is really superb. But it is a chrome plated case.

That’s a cutie. I don’t have problem with vintage chrome plate when they are in good shape. My WWII/Ord watches are plated- that’s just what they were. As long as the plating isn’t flaking or pitted your fine.
