A 145.012 here (hope it's not already listed before..):
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/194131278721
Nice piece, but in the last 6 hours it has jumped up to 7,100 GBP (~$10K USD) w/ 4 days left on the open auction. Will be interested to see where it lands!

Nice looking Elgin Ord Dept watch. These were typically early watches that were recased by the military post war. This one has a nice dial and hands, some typical marring on the surface but lume is all intact. Seller says recently serviced and running well. Although small at 32mm, these are real military pieces so I wear them with the joy of that in mind- it’s how our grandfathers wore them. Original pass through OD straps still pop up on eBay to make it complete. If I didn’t already own one of these, I would grab this one at the BIN.

Thanks @JwRosenthal for reigniting this thread! Decent bargains seem to be few and far between these days, and eBay's been looking quite dried up, so appreciate having one of us here keeping an eye out.

This all stainless Croton also caught my eye with the nice twisted lugs and clean linen dial. A bit pricey but the seller accepts offers.

If I hadn’t already bought a very nice one from @JohnSteed, I’d be thinking about this one.

That’s not bad for what you’re getting even at asking

Devil diver in desperate need of a crystal, hands and a service but the case and bezel look OK and potentially the lume is nice and puffy. I’ve been on the hunt for this bracelet for a while too and whilst not the cheapest I’ve seen a lot worse go for a lot more.

Yup- factory bracelet- clasps are easy to get with the tuning fork (which is correct). I paid half the asking of this whole watch for that same bracelet. Hands are tough to get but may be able to be saved and relumed. This watch took water at some point. Crystals are out there, I bought one in eBay 386AWD. Movement is the 11ALACD which are abundant in “lesser” models . Frankly, @inchpincher buy it for the bracelet, then flip it and it would still probably sell for $250

This looks like a Korean War era case to me. There was so much WWII surplus, and these watches were put into different cases. I believe this is the parkerized case from the Korean War, not the chrome case of WWII. Nothing wrong with it. It tells a piece of history, but if you are looking for a 100% WWII watch, I don't think this is it.

It is the 3818/A17 case. They were recased in the same way guns were re-arsenaled and put back into stock. It’s the same as mine.

Who wants to get their freak-on?!?!

Two-tone Technos Borazon with sunburst purple dial, faceted crystal and factory two-tone bracelet- yow!!! Normally I’m not a fan of two-tone, but the Gold is restrained here to be highlights.
This is a fun 70’s statement piece to the max!!

Yes- we are saying the same thing. But it was done officially by the military and not an aftermarket recasing.

Yes we agree. It does tell a bit of history. The US war production machine cranked out a phenomenal amount of equipment. Even as a child of the 80s, I had a ton of WWII surplus stuff. Wooden framed backpack, canteen, masonite helmet liner, canvas tents, wool shirt . . .
