One year and untold watches.
I was going to say "I can tell you how many watches"...but come to think of it, I cannot. I can, however, tell you I've had to purchase three new watch boxes in the past year!

Huge thanks to the merry band of contributors, both for offering up intriguing finds from their unending hunts, and the education freely offered!

Watch boxes are like buying cigarettes by the pack- you tell yourself it鈥檚 only a couple every now and then, you can stop anytime. Committing furniture to watch storage is like buying by the carton- you aren鈥檛 trying to fool anyone- especially yourself.

It's priced a bit high, has a chrome plated case and some winding issues, but sill tremendously attractive. The dial, hands and bezel look really amazing with just the right patina. Has make an offer so this could end up selling for quite a bit less.

I'm not wondering if the tip of the second hand was snapped off as it should probably be longer. Can't find another photo of that model to compare though.

The tip looks a bit uneven as well, not quite squared off.
The very thin finely tapered tips of minute and hour hands suggest that the second hand should also have a longer and finely tapered tip.

I am not a fan of the vertical-numbers date wheel.

Well, not to pick bones, but this is an auction, so it remains to be seen if it is a good deal or not.

I agree. I was properly reproved, for posting and commenting on an auction item, on the basis that other forum members might have been bidding for it.
It was a very gentle and courteous reproval and I now only post BIN options.

I know this has been an issue with other threads pointing out big dollar watches and some members getting bent about it- my attitude has always been that if it鈥檚 on the internet- it ain鈥檛 a secret- someone will find it.

But in this case, not highlighting open auctions is a matter of courtesy to our fellow deal snipers, and once the cat is out of the bag, they cease being a bargain- thus defeating the whole point of this thread.

BIN items are fair game. Anyone can buy it at any time- make an offer, buy it outright- we all have the same chances. If you were hoping to keep it a secret while you figured out if you really wanted it or not- then too bad, too slow, so sorry.

I honestly think there鈥檚 way less bargains in auctions anyway. I agree to what you are saying above.

I think with buy it nows, you have the ability to snag something quickly before anyone realizes what it is.

But I suspect $1 starting price auctions get looked over far more.

I agree, an Ed White on the web won't fly under the radar these days, but a nice Technos might. Regardless, you can't get too upset if the watch is already posted in a very public place.

Normally I only post an auction item if the opening bid is very low and there are few if any bidders so far.

Not sure why this hasn't sold yet, it is a good deal in my book. Especially for UK members looking for a deal. 100GBP

@wagudc Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated.

Yes, I鈥檓 scratching my head too, maybe it鈥檚 because Audax is an unknown quantity as a brand? Or maybe my photos weren鈥檛 good enough?
