Here’s mine. I am embarrassed by that strap (original Wyler and buckle). Will swap it tomorrow! Great watches by the way....

My grandparents owned a jewelry shop and Wyler was one of their biggest watch brands they carried. My aunt recently told me that when they Wyler rep visited their shop he would stay at their house. She thought he was a nice guy.

I was tempted by this, but $18 standard (first class) shipping is a total ripoff. It would cost $8.45 to ship this in a small priority mail box.
I love that there’s a certain segment of the watches people buy here that are buy or no buy based on a $9.15 postage difference lol

This eBay seller is trying to recover fees by doubling the postage. The money (in this case) is trivial; it's the principle that bothers me.

It bothers me too in the same way as charging me another $25 to check my baggage at the airport- just include it in the fare and don’t nickel and dime me at the gate.

Ahk fair enough didn’t even think of that but I get what you mean now. I do typically spend $20-30 just on packaging when shipping a watch since our local post office is super expensive for boxes, bubble wrap, tape etc but thats more because I’m not organized / selling often enough to have my supplies and not overpay for materials at the GPO.

I think there are boxes and bubble wrap that have gone through 1/2 dozen members and back again. I tend to recycle.

And on this note of shipping, having sold a few recently, a domestic flat rate box with insurance via click& ship with a USPS account it about $15 (depending on the insurance amount), not $4 like all of us like to think- it’s not 1992 anymore.

Shipping watches internationally-uninsurable through USPS -to members here has cost me as much as $50- I don’t set the fees and this is not a contest- just stating the facts as I have discovered at my local PO.
Shipping costs what it costs- we have no control and the fees and rules seem to change weekly (particularly right now). Don’t ask for next day even with Fed-ex in our current climate-it won’t happen, but they’ll still offer it to you and take your money.
I offer free shipping domestically when I sell and factor that into my asking price. Int’l is whatever they feel like charging on a given day so I can’t rightly offer that for free as I don’t know what it will be (and on a $200 watch it could be a 1/4 of the value).

I get not quibbling over $10 on a watch that may be a good value. But I agree that the principle of someone trying to make up fees and expenses in an added S&H fee to lower the appearance of asking price is just tacky.

Is that a Wyler branded bracelet? Either way, it looks good.👍

Not sure. I can't see any markings on it.

I was looking at a nice pair of low end casual boots the other day, the price was low for the apparent quality, then I saw they wanted $39 for shipping which made the total not too awfully high but no longer in the good deal for the price category.
Quality Bootmakers like Thursday Boots offer free shipping and no cost for returns if the boot doesn't fit. You pay for the quality (around $200) but in the long run its worth it.

Probably generic, but it fits the watch well and looks good.

It is worth checking out the listing to see the dial up close. It has a cool texture to it.

The seller is based in India, but has good reviews. It may be a risk with the chaos going on there now.

I took a gamble with a watch from Pakistan at the start of the pandemic and it paid off well. The seller was unable to ship it for a couple of months, so it was a little sketchy.

Back to the subject of the post, it is the original dial. The seller lists a few of the typical Mubai special redails, but is honest in the listing. I believe he is honest that this is original, and it appears so. The watch is said to be serviced, which is likely true. Although India is a developing country, there is a lot of technical skill there. I think it is worth an offer. I like to buy from people in developing countries, because it gives the seller an opportunity to earn money in an environment where jobs may be hard to come by. I suppose there is a greater chance of getting ripped off, but I am willing to go for it if the stakes are low enough. So far it has worked out for me.
