Nice looking 60’s stainless Seiko with black dial- date only - which is a nice thing as most are day/date. Looks honest and original, would probably clean up well with a wet sand on the crystal. Bracelet is aftermarket but Seiko BOR’s come up often, and cheaply. Lume looks great. Has make offer

Finally made it through customs... attacked it with some wet sandpaper... that was an adventure...

Pretty pleased with the outcome though. Bargain. Thanks James for the spot.

It's leather-backed canvas from Black Bough... they don't seem to sell them anymore...

So I know nothing about these- but this is as cool as cool gets. 14k white gold LeCoultrerererier. Listing says it’s for ladies, I believe it, but at 26 wide x19 lug-lug, it could be a very svelt men’s watch.

Edit- just reread- 19 wide x 26 L2L, so definitely a ladies watch.

. One would want a longer strap for the short lug-lug as this thing is all about the thick strap (hello @Syrte ). Have no clue on pricing for this so do your own homework.

I’ve seen a number of those, usually larger ones which were more than double the price, but this dial seems refinished to me unfortunately. Otherwise yes a great model, called «Etrier » aka « Stirrup ». A number of them were sold in partnership with Hermes which is famous for making saddlery - and still to date has iconic watch models with various types of buckle designs.

Thanks for the education- I am a fan of Hermès myself (own several of their fragrances and ties). I questioned the dial but it looks evenly painted and the gilt logo matches the “Swiss” at the bottom, but again- this is out of my wheelhouse. I did just notice the cracked crystal above 1 o’clock- I assume that wouldn’t be easy to source a replacement.

I too have an Hermès tie habit… haven’t worn any of them in about a year and a half due to COVID… yet still have about 40 lol

I had to wear a suit for work back in January for an event- it felt so odd. But I did get to wear my Longines dress watch which was a total thrill.

I think we might need an Hermès tie thread, I need an excuse to post my drinking tie which is just awesome yet has been in storage far too long

Now i understand why your French is so impressive, as in the remarkable example below 😁
But it sounds more impressive since French tends to do that.

Like J'ai utilisé un piston pour débloquer la merde coincée dans la plomberie sounds like some elegant description of a watch movement but it isn’t.

I’m a poet and a scholar. And an Australian. Which makes it a rare combination.

And a tech geek, even rarer 😉
PS- actually, maybe there isn’t so much of a contradiction between poet, scholar and geek- the Australian part is the one that makes it all a stretch 😁

This is probably one of the funkiest ones to grace this thread- penultimate 70’s to the max- Jules Jergensen Stainless awesomeness. If the hot sexiness of bracelet is too much for you, it does appear to have standard strap lugs...but that would just be sad to do to this package of disco inferno. Looks like something that may be in the @connieseamaster wheelhouse of daring.

Seller is in Pakistan with lowish feedback, but eBay protection should have you covered. Not much money to gamble for what could be the ultimate fashion statement.

This one needs more pics just for the record- totally spectacular piece of dated glory.

@JwRosenthal I think you are misusing the word "penultimate" here. This would be a penultimate 70s watch:

To be honest, I only recently learned the definition of penultimate. So I had to share. It is funny how we can miss these things for decades. Penultimate means second-to-last, so the penultimate 70s would 1870s. Another one I missed is the saying "It's a dog eat dog world." Up until my late 30s I thought the saying was "It's a doggy dog world," which never made much sense to me. 🤦

That bracelet is insane! I got a deal from a Pakistan based seller with limited feedback. I would go for it, if I was interested.

Excuse me, while I kiss this guy, there’s a bathroom on the right.
