49 stars on the flag? 😵‍💫

From Wiki
"The 48-star flag was in effect for 47 years until the 49-star version became official on July 4, 1959. The 50-star flag was ordered by then president Eisenhower on August 21, 1959, and was adopted in July 1960. It is the longest-used version of the U.S. flag and has been in use for over 60 years."

The "Space Race" began in 1955.

Perhaps made between January and August of 1959 Alaska, then Hawaii

That really narrows the window down, doesn’t it!

I can't recall seeing a CASD bezel for sale.
Rocking horse poo...

Hint: I’ve been looking for quite a while and am doing some cross referencing with similar but different models that have the same insert. Eg LeJour. Note the cases of CASDs are unique to each movement so an early Venus bezel ain’t gonna fit a late VJ7733.

Pretty impressive to produce an Apollo 11 plaque in 1959, see if the seller is also offloading any time traveling apparatus.

My guess is cobbled together by a German space enthusiast who wasn't as expert on US vexillology.

vexillology- a new word to me- thank you!

I thought Phrenology was the most esoteric “study of” I knew.

I was going to purchase the CASD listed by @JwRosenthal because of how great the dial looks. Even with the crown being a replacement. But I did a look up and in the last several months only one bezel sold for like $450. They sold like 4 different movement variants of the CASD. My conclusion is it may be a pain in the ass to source lol!

....thus why I didn’t buy it! Was hoping somebody here had a nasty one with bezel intact. Put them together and you have a stunner and parts watch.

Since I am not buying it I will say the guy offered me $800 PayPal GS and $750 PayPal f+f. Fyi. Pretty steep discount off asking. If I was not moving I would bite.

Hello everyone...

Ok just saw this one... and yes the seconds hand ( on edge between the 9 and 10 oclock marker) kind of wedge under the crystal armor ring) is under the crystal... IF your looking for a Antarctic needs some TLC... this might be for you...Just to be clear have no relationship with the seller. Here is an affiliate link:

Hello everyone....

I love the patina on the dial.... The movement is discolored, replacement movement retaining ring, crown most likely a replacement... other then that it looks honest to me...35 mm steel screwback Omega Swiss case.... The BIN is on the high side but Make an OFFER is a option...Just to be clear have no relationship with the seller. Here is an affiliate link:
