Happy to report this watch has made its way to me and definitely qualifies as an eBay bargain. The seller's pictures were rather blurry and didn't show the beautiful linen dial and somewhat exaggerated the wear to the case.

Aside from a few light scratches on the crystal, it's in beautiful nick and at 35mm wide without crown makes for a very wearable dress watch.
Think I did OK on this one!
Nice ringing, very pretty

Oouuu Lume! Vintage Timex diver. Usually not a fan of Timex but this one is nice.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/324465753788

This is a cool looking watch and you should definitely spend no more than $50 if you wanted to have fun with it. Honestly it is worth more like $25. It has the M25 pin-lever movement which is not really a serviceable, and a chrome case. It is a very cheaply made watch, but sometimes I am amazed how these things will take abuse (a licken) and keep work (ticken). I occasionally by these pin-lever Timex at junk shops for $1-$10, polish the crystal and give them away. This one has an exceptionally cool skin-diver look to it, so I would pay $25. This is what the movement looks like:

Nice information! I wouldn't recommend based on the movement. Or your wallet may take licken due to the lack of ticken

You would be surprised what these Timex skin divers can bring....

Last year, I sold a full set for $375 on ebay. Including its original box and papers. I had upgraded the movement to the 21 Jewel version. But still, look at the sold listing and you will see they often sell for over $100.

The current day Timex Marlin watches have a Miyota movement which is a quite robust decent movement. It gives the impression that vintage Timex watches were good too, but they were pretty much crap with great marketing. Caravelle was Bulova's discount line that used good quality Japanese movements to take on Timex. This ad is pretty convincing to anyone who knows watches.

I suppose I must admit that from an economic point of view a watch is worth what someone is willing to pay for it, but in my heart a pin-lever Timex is not worth more than $100.

I have wondered how much work it would be to upgrade some of these chrome plated one jewel wonders to a better movement. Some of them have great looking dials. If you ever care to share the process (what swaps and what doesn’t), please do a write up.

Swap out the Timex movement for a 1 jewel wonder and you've made an upgrade.

It's a direct swap. They made an identical 21 jewel movement that matches the pin lever one. Literally a 5 minute job.

But my experience is with the M25/M75 style movement swap. I don't know about the other movements they made.

So the 21 jewel movement was made by Timex?

Ok, so this is not a “bargain” in the strictest sense of the word, but for the rarity, condition and sheer holy-crapness of it, this needs to be shared among those of use who can appreciate a bargain when we see one even if it isn’t “cheap”.
From our own @Eve - stunning arrowhead Connie in Stainless with gold furniture. This IS about as good as they get!

You're not kidding. The question is if you had that watch, why would you ever sell it? I hope no misfortune has fallen on Eve. That is such a nice b watch, I can't imagine selling it to get something better. What's better than that epic Connie? I love steel with gold markers, and arrowhead at that! Wow!

Stainless Benrus Sea Lord (although not marked as Sealord- it is). I’ve owned two of these- great watches at a solid 35mm. Seller says running fast- either magnetized or sticky hairsping. Either way, a simple repair for a watchmaker as it’s an eta movment.
