HI everyone... Take a look at this sharp example.... non chronometer... but killer. seller says its 34.5... I dont know.... look at the recessed crown... I think its more like 36 ! anyone ? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...MAAOSwVnxgCqQU&campid=5338755308&toolid=20008
Gold plated MARVIN case, with BIN of $22.00. Looks to be in decent shape. Seller has 100% rating. https://www.ebay.com/itm/20-Micron-...Lv5PairwiseWeb&_trksid=p2386202.c100677.m4598Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Hi might be wrong dial in the case.... I dont know ,.,, just did a search on "antarctic d " and another one popped up... same style case ... just dont know.... anyone ? bill
I have one of these Antarctic models with the recessed crown and date and it's 34.5 mm. It's not the iconic case with beveled lugs. Mine has a round cyclops.
Ctoron, Nivada, Nivada Grenchen, and Croton Nivada Grenchen was all over the map with cases and crowns and variations of dials with and without hour markers. I lean toward the classic deco dial and beveled lugs and have example with at least three different crowns. Here's another in the 34.5 mm case with cool lugs and crazy crosshairs, sort of spidery. And a black dialed Croton Aquamatic version. An odd gold Super Antarctic, and a red dialed diver. And a GMT. And an Iceberg and Glacier on the signed bracelet. I'll stop now. There ought to be an Antarctic Only book produced with all the cool versions.
Hello everyone .... This is an uncommon example.... I happen to love the Certina DS .... this is one in 18k gold.... BIN is on the hi-side but they have make an offer.... you need to check it out.... I have one... hahahah. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...6631%7Ciid%3A1&campid=5338755308&toolid=20008
Hello everyone.... This compressor watch ( waterproof snapback , like a Ranchero) just looks nice... like the black with white type date wheel... works with this dial layout !!! https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...wAAOSw2sRf1QdC&campid=5338755308&toolid=20008
Hello everyone.... I do like a simple gold watch..... i previously posted one with roman numerals , this one has Arabic numbers.... at 12,3, 6, and 9... https://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-...QAAOSwA~Jf4hXa&campid=5338755308&toolid=20008
Well Bill you're in luck as I have a box full of them for you and bargain priced so you can take your pick. Hopefully the weather on an upcoming weekend will be milder so I can come down to Chelsea and maybe you can take a peek at my hoard
It’s very nice, and like you, I have a soft spot for Certina DSs, but at that price I’m thinking that there are plenty of other watches I’d be tempted to buy.
Hi @Spruce I would not BIN it , I would make an offer.... I actually have more then one.. and its a great watch to wear ! Good Hunting Bill
Happy to report this watch has made its way to me and definitely qualifies as an eBay bargain. The seller's pictures were rather blurry and didn't show the beautiful linen dial and somewhat exaggerated the wear to the case. Aside from a few light scratches on the crystal, it's in beautiful nick and at 35mm wide without crown makes for a very wearable dress watch. Think I did OK on this one!
Even with make an offer, I don't know that this qualifies as a "good value" as per the theme of this thread. I think the novelty of this is to post watches that are good for bargain hunters or just fun pieces for cheap. A $3,800 (or what ever offer they accept) solid gold watch doesn't really follow with that. Maybe there should be an "Uncommon watches on eBay" thread for the expensive nice stuff.
