Nice looking 7730 based chrono from one of the many Paul’s. Plated case looks near perfect and the sunburst dial is lovely. Seller is one I watch (although I have never purchased from him) and he puts up nice stuff all the time. Considering he (self) serviced it, the price is actually a good deal .

Hamilton. Can't tell if there is something on the dial or that crystal. Cool bezel. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265026418554

I am pretty sure it is the dial. It looks like the finish is bubbling and flaking away. Look near the 5:00 marker. I would avoid this one.

As the seller appears to otherwise deal in used tools, clothes, estate sale goods, etc., I suppose I can’t be surprised at the lack of decent photos for a $20K listing. 😵‍💫

I was in touch with the seller--s/he had no real idea about the watch, at all. Seems likely someone just made an incredible score.

My dad had that exact same Weller soldering iron on his desk at work for more than 30 years. I wish I had kept it when he died. I have a digital soldering iron now that I use occasionally but I'd rather have his.

For those of you starting out in vintage, a couple of classy manual wind 1950s Tissot up for auction:

1. 10k gold-filled case. Runs. Dial looks ok under that scratched crystal. Dark lume in the hands will contrast nicely against that off-white dial once the crystal is polished. Reasonable vintage size of about 33mm. Ask the seller for some extra pictures of those lugs to verify the gold fill remains intact. Starting bid price is $80.

2. Chrome case, but chrome looks intact all around. Runs. Dial looks ok under that cracked crystal. Don't be afraid to ask the seller for more pictures of the case, especially the sides and lugs. Reasonable vintage size of about 33mm. Recycle that metal stretch band and put this watch on the soft suede strap it deserves. BIN price is $130.
