Hi all - this vintage zenith seems to be rather cheap (too good to be true??) I wondered if any of your expert eyes could spot why?

Could you share a link? Or at least inform us on the asking price?

I love the gold-cased Longines! I put in a $200 offer on this one yesterday a few minutes after it was listed and the seller accepted.
Pictures aren't the best but I feel I may be very pleasantly surprised. Pics coming shortly!

Looks nice!

I mean it has 5 days left on it so it's bound to be bid on a lot more in that time. I can't comment really on it because my knowledge of Zenith is small but usually these black dials are minefields. This one could be a redial as I don't see any swiss made present on the dial?

Well there is a chunk out of the rehaut missing, the case is an absolute wreck, I'm not sure if that's even the original caseback at all considering it doesn't say "Zenith" anywhere, it seems to be missing the original crown, and the movement is utterly filthy. I'd pay what the auction is currently at ($35). But I'm cheap. What's it actually worth? Far less than $100 in my book, but what do I know.

So I looked at some of the other offerings from that seller, and boy are there a lot of them - they currently have over 12,000 active listings. What I can't figure out though is how they have managed to have 100% feedback considering some of the slapped together dreck they are selling. Here's an example: Jacques Monnat chronograph, but someone has removed the Valjoux 7736 it originally came with and swapped it for a Chinese ST-19:

Or how about this one?

Just a Movado dial in a Seamaster case/movement:

These, along with the above Zenith, really make me wonder about their offerings.

Another zenith find via gumtree, £300 asked for. My initial searches suggest it’s a Stellina model from around the late 1960s. I don’t have a photo of the movement but have a video of the watch running. A few scratches to the case, original crown and replacement strap. Would love to know your thoughts on whether the price is reasonable or if there are any red flags (other than the seller’s dirty nails!).

I would not recommend this watch.

Hi Again...

This one is even cooler... seller says it a black dial but depending on the angle it looks to appear blue or black... and maybe even grey !

These look great, indeed they are certainly NOS in appearance. Super compressor case ETA movement. I would be seriously temped, but I just bought circa 1960 Seamaster and not sure how much I will need spend on parts and service.
