Awesome looking watches. What are they generally going for?
Prices are all over the place. Anywhere from $50 for an over polished case not working to circa $150-200 for a decent working pie pan, add another $75-100 on correct signed mesh. There seem to be a lot around in Japan. The black dials seem to be rare and rightly command a premium. $250-500. I’ve seen the best versions with clean unpolished case, faceted crystal, black/brown pie pan, quickset date, and the lovely Milanese signed bracelet and box/papers at $1000-1500 but no idea of them selling at that asking price. I doubt it but imho they are as good as a Connie. The bracelet is the most comfortable I have ever worn and they feel so right on the wrist. If you are patient the right one will come along. I’m not fussed about the medallion. It’s a bonus if there.

If its the crystal.. then swap it out if it bothers you...

Just what I'm thinking of doing.
If the effect was like that of the Delano I'd not give it a second thought, but with my Orient its just toooo much.
I have a crystal press. Haven't opened the Orient since I got it, and this watch never really grew on me. I haven't had it out of its box more than a dozen times and never for more than two or three days.

Can you post a photo of your Orient? I googled but couldn’t see one like you describe. I’m assuming no one would have a problem with a photo of a not for sale watch on this thread?

No I like the Venetian blind effect, I just hadn’t focussed on it when I first saw the watch.

Here is the same effect on a Seamaster:

Heres a sellers photo of a similar watch.
Mine has a very lustrous satin blue dial.

I don't own it. You can buy it in Japan for about $2k.

I love the gold-cased Longines! I put in a $200 offer on this one yesterday a few minutes after it was listed and the seller accepted.
Pictures aren't the best but I feel I may be very pleasantly surprised. Pics coming shortly!

Hi all - this vintage zenith seems to be rather cheap (too good to be true??) I wondered if any of your expert eyes could spot why?
