Ha! The field is open now for others. I have my ones. So 3 of mine have no medallions. Probably from Japan. My South American ones do have it.
The dark dial is stunning with lume contrast and I will def look for other versions of that in future. And I have a few spare bits collected along the way....

I think they all had medallions unless the back is totally flat. They tended to fall out early.

Seawolfs have been at the 'ouch' price point for years, sadly.
Ouch yes, but they have not hit “dear god” or “you have got to be shitting me” levels yet- but on their way

Well done....these dials are utterly gorgeous - its a dark chocolate brown/black with creamy insert to indices which is really difficult to capture in pics....honestly one of the prettiest watches I own - mine are def keepers. The facteted crystal enhances the piepan effect...every good home should own one!

I’m tempted by this, although I probably won’t go for it unless I get a rush of blood to the head.

34.5 without crown

Yup, the rush of blood came and I made an offer, which was accepted.

On this auspicious day I might have put in a bid for a Joseph Robinette but settled for a (Franklin) Delano.

Awesome looking watches. What are they generally going for?

Got the Bulova finally and it looks better than the pictures. Black dial has some discoloration but looks good on the wrist. Still has brushing visible on the case. It's 36mm without the crown, but I was hoping it would be a little larger.

I'm wondering about the quilted looking dial. My Orient tristar has one though oriented horizontally rather than vertically. Mine and apparently from the images this one only shows the quilting from certain angles.
I'm thinking this effect is in the crystal rather than the dial itself.
Personally I don't care for it. If this had been visible in the seller images when I got mine I would not have bought it. Its distracting and makes it harder to read the time at a glance.
The Delano's dial effect seems to be better balanced and less distracting.

That’s a point.

I initially missed the quilting/Venetian effect when I originally saw it on eBay (I’ve added the 'lead' photo on the sales) and it was another OP who spotted it.

I’ll check it out when I get it, without removing the crystal😉 and I’m sure I’ll most clearer photos.

Hi
i think it is in the dial itself... and I really like it !

If its the crystal.. then swap it out if it bothers you...
