Benrus C-cased guy sent me an unsolicited offer for $20. Just watch it and you’ll get one too. This could be a nice watch if anyone wants to put the love into it.

Nice Eterna Matic "Centenaire" with NSA /Eterna bracelet. I´m not sure about the caseback, looks polished to me.

Eterna Matic Centenaire 71 Automatic | eBay

The tension ring has been replaced too maybe, as the Eterna versions normally have a double-dot at 12:00. This looks like the Mido Ocean Star tension ring JwRosenthal was talking about some time back... though I'm sure others used similar pieces. Nice pieces still though.

Too much time left and bidding is going to be fierce so its unlikely this will go cheaply, but its too darn nice not to post it.
Very thin for a selfwinder.

I believe that the dial has been repainted, but I have been known to be wrong there. For the right price, it would still be a nice watch to wear regardless.

I was outbid on the Kaleidoscope Cocktail and Cartier Tank tank tonight...figured one could be a nice gift to the wife, the other to my dress watch (small) collection. I do believe I'll be keeping this seller on my radar for regular check-ins. Whomever scored the two I was chasing, from what I can tell, got a sweet deal on each. The tank was crisp!

I got a white Borel kaleidoscope watch with red accents on the dial and red strap for my lady early in our relationship (first Valentine’s I think)- she loved it. That’s pretty much the one that started the craze.

I've picked up a few for her over the past year. The last (Waltham Premier) just came back from service and probably cost more than the watch is worth, but it's in the original box, looks to have hardly been worn, and she adores it...so I'm perfectly happy to have ensured she's in good running condition for years to come.

She did say 'Ooo, that's nice!' when she saw the Borel kaleidoscope. Would have been a nice little holiday gift...just didn't know what the 'overpaying' tipping point was for the bidding.

That Cartier Tank...I'm thinking someone picked up a sweet deal...it would have been the crown jewel along side my square Hamilton and Lord Elgin!

I'm curious here. There was a Gold cap Polarouter 138SS that sold on eBay tonight for approx. $675. I wasn't actually interested but why didn't this fetch more? Was there something "off" or restored that turned people off? This seller had a number of interesting things. Could it be a coming global recession, latent prejudice that people dare not speak? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-rare-Universal-Geneve-Polerouter-bumper-automatic-watch-gold-cap-138SS-/143863916747?hash=item217ef528cb:g:HGIAAOSwzmZftTlh&nma=true&si=8f%2Fnncv8kb1mRrF2pYa69T6KkCg%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

There was also an Omega Hobnail (really interesting, not my personal thing) that underperformed and a truly stunning (if I weren't tapped out) Lecoultre, and I do mean stunning.

Omega Hobnail:

LeCoultre:

Did anybody here buy any of these? But I am genuinely curious as to an opinion why these particular watches went low - there was interest but a lot of it was from 0-feedback people which further leads me to wonder if they would have sold for even less. I always suspect that these 0-feedback bidders for something a little esoteric aren't really new buyers of vintage timepieces but are shills. Any thoughts on shills as well?

Beautiful, but that one is going to be crazy. Fast start out of the gates. Real beauty, I wish I could give my Dad a watch like that. He'd love it and then well... I guarantee it won't go to my brother! Ha!

I was watching that JLC. Seemed too good to be true as I don't know enough to dive in at that price point, but then again, I may have simply missed out on a good deal. Stunning indeed, if everything is up and up...I just don't know enough to be confident to toss that much dough out there on a gamble ("gamble" aka "not enough knowledge on my behalf").

I had a quick look at the two Seamasters and the Polarouter from this seller but most of the lume seemed to have been removed from the watches. This reduces the desirability and value. I would have to do more research on the JLC to take a view on whether the dial is original but the seconds hand looked short.

Hi Guys

Always like the way this dial ages and will turn to a golden yellow... Not sure if it will be good value as its a new auction.. but the Kontiki 20 is one to keep an out on...
