Finally back home after an extended trip. A few weeks ago promised you all a few Technos Sky Light pics of my pair. Nicely complementary dials, markers and hands. Back emblem and buckles are different. One quickset date, the other not. I enjoy the community on this Value thread so much, but perhaps this merits a separate post...
The case back of your two examples look a bit different. Could this be due to different movements being used? If restoring one of these with a damaged or missing CB it would be good to know the differences and whether these interchange.
You’re right, the proportions of hex shape on case back are different. When I get them open I’ll post pics.
Speaking of Technos. https://www.ebay.com/itm/264930904189Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I love that this guy is selling it for the MSRP on the tag, can we get this guy to broker all watches on eBay?
Previously didn’t sell for $200 - likely will drop again without a buyer. Integrated bracelets aren’t for everyone, but they can be incredibly comfortable nice. Plus it’s a GF bracelet https://www.ebay.com/itm/184527807818Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Not a BIN- so breaking my own rules- but for you Technos Skylight nuts- this one has the medallion back and case looks to be in decent shape. Not keeping time, and dial has some crud on it, but if you want that back.... make this dude an offer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/224227235018Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Stainless Mido from the early 50’s- this is one of the larger ones. Seller says 33.5mm w/o crown and I believe it as I have one similar and it is the same size. The lugs are 16mm on mine so it makes the head look that much larger. Nice droplet style lugs and soft curves- these cases were meant to have soft lines across the tops and strait vertical brushing on the sides- that isn’t overpolishing- it’s part of the look. Crystal is cracked but these can take a generic crystal usually. Price is a little high and he doesn’t mention how it’s running but dial looks to be in nice shape so see if he’ll take an offer. https://www.ebay.com/itm/184527719393Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Chrome plated Helbros- with the “Invincible” on the dial. Watch looks like it was fished out of the sewer, but case is decent, dial and hands look great under that cracked and nasty crystal- lume is bright yellow. I think with a clean-up and new crystal this will be a swan. https://www.ebay.com/itm/193739922176Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
I think we should have someone develop a bargain thread app- when we post here, everyone’s phones vibrate.
That would have been nice - sorry you couldn’t get it snagged. And no @JwRosenthal I didn’t buy it, but I could start another thread featuring watches “I was going to post in this thread”
