I got this. It is quite simply the most photogenic watch I have in my collection imho. I am genuinely thrilled. Movement is low quality for sure but the dial hands case and bezel are just amazing. Screw down helium crown. Obv NOT radium as dates to circa 1960-69. A winner. Thanks again team for spotting this one. Amazing.
I had to share. The patina is ridiculous. Let's see it on the wrist in the sunlight baby!

I snagged this last night. I know nothing about Westclox but I like the 24hr on a black dial. What is everyone's thoughts?

They made a version of that watch into the 70’s- I am assuming that one is late 40’s- early 50’s. Westclox was known for cheap bargain watches sold in drug and discount stores typically, but don’t forget that Seiko divers and BP made Waltham’s were also made for the same market.

If it’s a stainless case and not plated, with a quality Swiss movement- I think you probably got a very nice watch on the cheap.

Its a StandardTime 177A. Cant find much on it other than it may be a modified Durowe. If anyone knows the ref maybe I can use the specs to do an upgrade. Maybe. Its running now - I did a basic clean and relube but havent timed it yet. The balance was way off when it arrrived but seems better now. It has a huge feel to it - the crystal magnifies the already large numbers. Feels like a milspec BP from the late 1950s! Am going to do a write up on Chronopedia when I get some more info....there doesnt seem to be much about these models anywhere.

Speaking of radium- great looking Stainless Croton. Lovely original dial. A.Schilde movement, 33mm

And I got this one! Offer accepted in a matter of minutes. Could I have gone lower? I don't care. I was instantly smitten by that beautiful radium dial.

Nice grab! We have all had ones we tried to squeeze another nickel out of and lost it. Like love- when you know, you know.

Now that’s is just insane! Probably one of the most visually exciting divers I have seen in a while.

1976 Accutron with 218 (2180 no date 2181 date, 2182 day/date) movement. Lume is fantastic on this one, dial is clean and unique, case shape is oh-so-70’s and comes with factory JBC bracelet sized to well over 7.5”. This is the last gasp for Bulova- and the movement is worth the asking price.

It's gone.. I may or may have not offered him $100. And I may or may not have purchased it already. And I may or may have not added a very cool roman numeral dial with very nicely aged patina.

I’ve looked at that one a few times for this thread and always thought it was a little rich for a Caravelle- but that dial is spectacular.
We are on the same page. However the seller has relisted a few times and it gets cheaper every time. I just don't like base metal. I had to decline the Westclox from earlier for that reason.

I’m so sorry, so happy you may or may not have gotten it.
Be careful with that word patina- it makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I visualize this

That Accutron is the antithesis.

When I say "patina" I mean finely aged. When sellers say it it could mean "pile of poop". Haha

We don’t pay enough respect to the Japanese in this thread- and this is a prime example of a stellar Japanese watch.

1967 Seiko Sportsmatic. Sunburst dial with cross-hair, stainless case with tucked crown, bright puffy yellow lume and it even comes with a spare crystal. Rehaut needs to be realigned (pips are out of line) but that can happen when the crystal is swapped out.
