Oh that’s lovely. Is it a smoked dial? Not seen that version.

Fancy lugs, fancy markers, fancy snailing, fancy Benrus. It's a little high for a gold plated Benrus but this one is really clean- premium for condition. Assume it's small at probably around 32-33mm- or ask the seller.

Ok, this is gonna bust the value thread- but this must be shared and we all geek out on this kind of thing- even if just to look. And some may consider this a value just becuase of what it is.
Hamilton Fontainebleau- oh yeah!!!!
True original and untouched condition, original strap and buckle included- these rarely come up.

Sooooooo........a few days ago I promised a Show and Tell. You may recall it was the day of the GWHGOAT (Greatest West Ham Goal of all time). To celebrate this momentous event and caught up in the heady times, I clicked buy on a certain watch that has been seen on this thread.... but I get ahead of myself.

Some may argue that the diCanio goal versus Wimbledon is better....and there is a case for it being technically so, or the Tevez freekick but the Lanzini strike against our great rivals Spurs was sublime - it was the timing that made it so - forcing a draw from 3-0 down with the last kick of the match - a delicious moment in time to be savoured over and over again for decades to come.

And thus I decided that I must celebrate. With a spontaneous purchase (on Ebay) of something that would bring not only great pleasure but remind me every time I looked at it of just how good I felt as I saw the back of the net buckle, the ball escaping the flailing hands of the goalkeeper. The realisation that we had indeed scored. and the incredulous look on the team mates' faces as Lanzini peeled off his shirt and was then submerged by the ecstatic men in claret and blue.

So what did I choose to add to the collection and wear on my wrist? Was it this?

The Mondaine is lovely and a fine addition - the linen dial is super, its crisp, clean, unpolished and keeping excellent time.

But no - if you will forgive the pun, the Mondaine is just too mudane as a memento of an event that will become more burnished and treasured over the years....

I went for this.....

Thread members....I offer you....

THE LANZINI!!!!

Yup. I was the one who bought the Wakmann. And boy is it a beauty. Almost NOS. Wonderful size. Fully working. Stunning dial. Just sublime.

Very much like the goal itself.

And this won't be leaving my collection....ever.

Congrats. Glad this went to an OF member. I had no idea you were a high volume eBayer. You've been holding back your expertise. 😁

Thank you all of you for the kind words. Very difficult to capture how good it is. Often the case with excellent watches...

And I am far from an expert on watches.

Similar to a Wittnauer I picked up on eBay last year:

My lugs have an unusual chamfer. Venus 175 inside.

this is a great watch. i was actually going to buy a 2nd one i liked it so much, but he sold out of them. the owner of zoretto doesn't know if he will make anymore of this dial version or he will use a new dial for his next batch.

this watch has quickly become a top 5 watch for me. which is saying quite a bit.

you might be able to get it for even less.than $429. which is still a fine price, even more so if they don't make anymore

i've wanted this watch for over 20 years. almost had one at one time, but for one reason or another it never happened. i think it was becuse i didn;t want to pay 1k to 1500 for it. perfect for every raider fan or reading dostoevsky in a black turtleneck.

always loved the embossed case back..

here's a non chrono.

looks like scuffs to crystal between 9/10.

listed at 36mm but 100% wears smaller than that because of the case

this watch is crying for a oyster bracelet

$550..nope...$300...u have to really want it....the pio buy price lower than that because it wears small and it's just not interesting enough
