Hi-fi project- you are speaking my other language! 🍿

Nothing too exciting, I want to get a system to play background level music in the kitchen. The problem is we have floor to ceiling cabinets, and don't want to give up counter space. In-ceiling is not an option as it is the ground floor of a two story house. The space above the cabinets is sheet-rocked and there is enough space for 5" speakers. Not ideal placement near the ceiling, but I think I will put in a pair of lcr in-wall speakers with dual 5" drivers mounted horizontally. I am leaning towards these Klipsch speakers, partly because they have aimable tweeter that could be pointed down towards the listening area.

Lots of compromises going on here because of the limitations of the space. Still trying to figure out what I want to use for an amp and dac. The source will be a Raspberry Pi computer with a bunch of flaac files ripped from CDs. Target budget is around $1000.

My regular system is a pair of Dali Zensor 7s driven by a Cambridge Audio amp. So more of a laid back British sound. The Klipsch would be a bit different, but the high efficiency will allow more flexibility in amp choice.

Seller sent an unsolicited offer on this for €260 (was in my watch list)- not bad for what it is. He may take a counter offer- but I haven't tried it as I am flush in divers.

Gone already. Not bad if it went for the price the seller offered you

I'd like to find out the exact movement used in these watches, by dates of the Technos brand changing hands.
If any were manufactured in Japan, and it appears there were, a commonly available Japanese movement might have been used.
I'd like to be able to bring one back from the dead by simply switching out the movement for a modern recently manufactured equivalent.
If I ran across one with very good or better exterior but abused innards at a low price of course.

I found two very different images identified as Technos Skylight movements.

Here’s a quick shot of the movement in mine. Looks high quality finish of fairly standard caliber. Others more knowledgeable will no doubt contribute. I really like this model a lot....

Funky one in the UK with a nice ETA. Could stay low but who knows. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353241534253
It is funky but I checked out Carronade. It’s a brand of Ratner’s jewellers. Some might remember that several years ago founder Gerald Rayner committed corporate harakiri by announcing on TV that his products were crap.

Anyone know anything about Foresta? https://www.ebay.com/itm/143802774203

Foresta is a german brand based in "Pforzheim" near "Stuttgart" also known for his own "Förster (FB) "calibers.

BTW Ranfft should change their main colour, this pink hurts so much 😀

Arrived...in 4 days from Tokyo. Amazing. Unpolished. Flawless dial. Perfect crystal. I am seriously impressed. Will be looking for a black dial version now. Lovely bracelet. On the wrist. Wow! And I’m in for $215. As good or better than a Ccase Connie imho.

Red wine and EBay. Oh dear.
I've got one of those too. Great wearing watch.
