Reasons I would want the new ceramic SMP 300m versus the wave dial

I recently purchased the Ceramic black version. I think it looks great, the wave dial looks a bit dated to me for some reason.. Each to their own though i suppose.

We all agree that when it comes to watches "less is more", yet I can't stop thinking that ceramic's dial is too simple, too... empty.

In my mind the wave dial gives the watche some refinement... so at the end it's a matter of personal taste.

I prefer the ceramic version. I like a little blink, blink from time to time 😀

The 2254 wave dial does not stand out as much as the 2531.80 and 2220.80. That said, I would still choose the ceramic over the wave dial. It is just neater for my liking.

When I reformed from this hobby of ours in 2006, the Bond Seamaster blue wave dial was the one that I always lusted for and never had.

When I returned to this hobby about 2 years ago, the new Seamaster ceramic no wave dial sickened me to my stomach as I thought... where did the waves go?!?

Today as I now embrace this hobby with love, the new Seamaster ceramic no wave dial has officially won over my heart.

What I've learned from this hobby....... whether it's lust for another watch, regret for what never was, or pure happiness of what I have.... as long as I lurk through these forums... "Time Changes Everything" =)

When they updated to the newer ceramic bezel, they made a lot of other small positive changes as well. And as an overall look, I really think they helped modernize a true classic piece. Go blue!

Yeah no losers here but next to each other the older wave dial dial shows its age.
Spoken like there's a problem with the "older" one (in spite of saying "no losers"). They're the start; the newer the state of the art. Each has value. As a parallel, my tapestry DJ is no longer around in any shape or form but I love it never the less.

You say "Inexperienced". Buy the ceramic one. It's new, it looks fantastic. It's a really nice piece. I'd love to own one.

Don't get me wrong I'm a HUGE fan of the bond but go with the new one.

Can I say something else. I have to say the old clasp was a little nicer. Everything folded into the clasp. The new one isn't as neat. I do like the new model though.

New bracelet works with the Seamaster 300 clasp, though. [emoji848]
