Seriously considering trading in my PO for this?
Haven't managed to handle one yet but all the reviews I've seen are raving about it. Anyone got one or handled one yet?

Don’t have one but have tried on a few modern Tudors. Make sure you try one on for yourself and don’t trust any online reviews. I have found that Tudor tends to get so close, but it’s always something that kills it for me (thickness, lug to lug, how it contours the wrist, etc).

I’m waiting for it to be released in blue. It’s almost exactly what I’ve been waiting for from Tudor

Also had the chance to try it on and while I like the proportions I preferred many of the details of my tried and true Pelagos 41mm blue -- matte finishes on dial and bezel, ability to grip the bezel with dive gloves or when wet, raised rehaute and deeper applied indices, overall balance. Honestly, I think the new downsized model is benefiting a bit from the current Tudo halo. I'd take the original over the 39mm if it fits, and the BB58 hands-down over the Pelagos 39 -- it's just a more complete and balanced design, IMO.

And if I owned a PO that I liked. I see no reason to trade down for the 39mm Pelagos.

I fell for the hype when the BB58 first came out, everything about it was perfect. Ended up buying the black BB58 and after buying it for some reason I hardly wear it, I dont know what it is, its a beautiful watch, but kinda boring. Try the pelagos before you buy it.

I also got a call from my AD the day it came out (few days ago). Went and handled it, but didn’t purchase.

It’s perfect, but I wish it was in stainless steel. Titanium just doesn’t feel as premium.

I would highly recommend otherwise.

Concur with @JwRosenthal on trying on the Pelagos 39 first before buying.

My Tudor AD called me over the weekend and offered me the Pelagos 39. Went down this morning to try it on. Decided not to buy because I did not like the sun-ray brushing on dial and bezel. I posted a mini-review in the Rolex sub-forum thread on the Pelagos 39:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/pelagos-now-in-39mm.149891/

Here are the photos I took at the AD:

Wow, wasn't aware of this change. The Pelagos has lots of attributes as a tool watch (I adore mine). The argument can be made that the lack of an anti-reflective coating is a con or a pro (con for me, can always put it underside to negate the pro of not having any). Now they made it more unreadable in direct light with the addition of a reflective dial over the original matte.

Also, this isn't an Omega, so it shouldn't have been posted in the 'Modern Omega Watches' section of the forum. C'mon people, be better than that!!!:whipped:

I am currently an Omega wearer, just after opinions!

The new Pelagos is a home run. I'd take it over the PO in a New York minute.

I don’t know… The more wrist shots I see of this piece, the more uninterested I become. It is a cool watch but that sun burst across the entire face is a bit too much, for me at least. Found these pics on Instagram

If you really, really want that Pelagos, why not buy it ? You expect the Forum to talk you out of your decision ?

There is always another Tudor coming.

I would be happy ab out a BB58 with black dial and white lumen. Not the guilt model or the blue one.

I'm a Pelagos owner. I have the LHD and wear it in my rotation quite often. I love the no date on this 39, but the Pelagos is a piece that just looks better as a bigger watch. I love that the 42mm stands out compared to the enormous BB58 family of smaller watches and the matte black is amazing against the titanium.

That being said, Tudor listens to it's customers. A lot of people have been clamoring for a smaller Pelagos. Now if they would just make a white dial BB PRO, I'd buy another Tudor. I'm tired of waiting for Omega to introduce a thinner/smaller GMT sport watch/diver when everyone is calling for one!

I tried it and like it a lot. Size is perfect. Lug to lug, height everything is spot on.
The PO´s are too thick for my taste. The burst on the dial was not really there.
If you like it, buy it. An Omega in titanium would cost the double of the Pelagos.

I owm both brands and love both brands 😀

Best

Alex

Just phoned 2 AD's and both are saying 12-18 month wait! If you look on ebay, some are asking up to 5k for one, just wrong.

The sun burst was a step back, the size and thickness really step forward, but this is still the best Tudor diver..

Nice watch if you like the tool watch look in a smaller size.

Too small and boring for me.

I also wouldn't trade a PO for it just because I feel like they two fill different roles.
