Pelagos now in 39mm

As a former 1st gen owner of the Pelagos, I really enjoyed it's utility and robustness but found that it wore too large and was too thick (for my wrists at least). I eventually sold that one off and dreamed of the day when Tudor would make a smaller version.

Today they announced the 39mm (again with a cringeworthy launch video - note to Tudor, you really need a new marketing agency).

I like it but am not loving it:

WR dropped to 200m (ok yes I complained about the thickness but 500m WR makes pelagos what it is)
Micro-adjusting clasp dropped

Thoughts?

Looks nice to me. The thickness is around 12mm similar to BB 58 as far as I can find out.

I think that's a lot of watch for the money. £3500 for a titanium diver with both bracelet and rubber strap included.

Thinner at 12mm (roughly) than the normal pelagos with the only downside a reduced wr. Who is really taking this below 200m though.

39mm may be a bit small for some tastes and the fact I can only see it in black is the only real drawback (I like the blue)

Not sure it beats the fxd for me.

Right, it's a tad slimmer than a 5513, accounting for the plexi if I'm not mistaken. Not bad considering the portly BB Pro and the BB58 is 11.9mm.

Finally a wearable Pelagos😀
39 x 11.8 case, no date, lumed bezel, titanium - to me that all makes this watch the best Tudor release since original Black Bay in 2012.

11.8mm THK, OMEGA PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THAT VALUE!!...COMPARE WITH THE PO 39 AT 14.5mm?...
I FEEL TUDOR IS AWARE OF THE NEEDS OF THEIR FOLLOWERS.

Needs to lose Pelagos and officially certified text, at a minimum.

Exactly! The "Chronometer" line of text is enough. To be a COSC chronometer it has to be certified. Tudor doesn't need to put "officially certified". It's redundant! That extra line of text just lards and clutters the dial. Leave the excess dial text to Rolex.

As Robin Williams said: "In the dictionary under redundant, it says 'see redundant.'"

Well, if the video taught me anything...it is that I;ve been saying Pelagos wrong.

I’m not sure how anyone at Tudor could watch this and think: “yeah, that’ll make people want to buy this watch.” If anything, it has the opposite effect on me.

“This is the new Pelagos. Yet, it is not just “another” Pelagos. It is very much a Pelagos. But it is different… You can use it as a Pelagos of course.”

That video was horrendous

I honestly thought it was a spoof after that opening.

EDIT: only to say that Tudor has my attention. Eagerly awaiting the reviews.

I still sort of think that it was. And if its not, then yeah. Brutally bad.
