Rattling noise on vintage Omega

Hi there, I'm looking in to buying a vintage seamaster but I've been informed that it has a rattling sound when you shake the watch. I know it hasn't been serviced in a while so I'm sure that's part of the problem but does anyone have any idea if this is "normal" for a 60's seamaster? Any help much appreciated. Thanks

I didn't listen to the video, but unusual noises upon shaking could be a sign that the rotor is loose, and repairs/parts are needed in addition to a basic service. Of course, it's not uncommon for the auto-winding mechanism to need repair.

When you buy a vintage watch that hasn't been serviced by a known quantity, there is always uncertainty. It could just need a service, or it could need a few hundred extra in parts and repairs.

I watched the video. It's also possible that the movement is loose in the case. It's hard to say. If you really like the watch, just make sure you get it very cheap.

Broken rotor post, worn out rotor bearing gear, or both. If you buy it, be prepared to spend a packet on it!

That thing has more rattles than a billionaires baby!
You wouldn’t want to pay much as it’s a gamble as to what needs doing.
In fact the only sure bet is that it’s gonna cost money!
Servicing alone can cost a bit let alone needing replacement parts!
