I didn’t mean the setting, I’ve seen that before on Universal, I think it’s a jewel hole with a dust cap, kinda like an incabloc without the spring.

I meant the jewel itself looked broken or cracked but now that I look at it again I think it’s just a drop of excess oil.

Oiling the Girocap settings is my least favorite part of working on UG movements.

Diabolik is right. There is no proper continuation between the former UG and the modern UG which is owned by some Asian parent (I am chinese Asian btw)

I also thought it looked cracked. My watch on the Friday thread has the same movement; I suppose I should take a macro photo of it.
