Rare second hand or just a replacement? 1950s Seamaster

Hi,

I have a query I'm hoping someone can help me with.

I bought a vintage Seamaster bumper 2766 a while back on eBay. It came with a non original crown, which I have replaced and also what I think is a non original sub seconds hand. Normally they have a straight, angled counter balance. But the one on my watch is rounded. I was sure this was a bad replacement, because I'd never seen another one on any Seamaster from this era. I've been looking to get it replaced.

Then a few days ago I stumbled across this https://database.omegaaddict.com/members/display.php?mode=display&watchID=495

It appears to have exactly the same seconds hand. I also noticed that the serial number is only a few digits different from mine. So I'm wondering if it actually came out of the factory like that for a short run.

Has anyone seen another example of this?

What do you guys think?

I've found one other similar shaped sub second hand on an Omega, but it's from an older watch.

Does anyone know if it was common practice for big watch factories to switch parts like this?
