So according to the description above, this one could be the correct one, or did I miss something?

Yours is absolutely spot on ,heavy lume ,wedge 2 ,concentric circle subdials pinion ends white ... even the slightly lumpy finish of the lume at 35
and the watch has comparable and consistent patination dial and hands
Your watch is a extremely nice example .... would loved to have seen it on the bracelet

By the way if anyone has the patience it would be instructive if the forum could have some picture of the case bands from the none crown side .....

There is debate on the profile as to the shape of the none oblique surfaces

and it can show a further variation from the original

Don't know if it helps. I found those pretty old pictures of my watch. The watch is currently in a safe, will pick it up next time for good pics of the bracelet's side.

Based on what, exactly?

I think @TsoloT is saying that the original dials are a little grey, not deep black.

Also, if I'm following along here, the "flat 2" is considered a service dial as well.

@OmegaRolex, maybe posting some good pics of your four would help resolve this confusion.

Another fantastic example may have to revise estimates but it looks like the forum has the best of the best

If you post your pictures we can respectfully show you what it is is based on

I think you have to appreciate that by now we have a hugely complicated series of variations on what would appear to be a single iteration of the 376.0822

There are quite considerable controversies about what the ‘correct ‘ watch should look like

Let’s just take this as an example .....
There are 3 bracelets and 4 end links and if we narrow the enquiry down to just the 1450 I would love the forum to decide which is the correct SEL ...is it the 808 or the 809 ? .....Gregorio Rossiere in the Moonwatch only says with conviction it’s the 809 ...... Charles Maddox in his thread in 2007 says it’s 808 and he has that on his watch which I have assertained is by inspection [and thus not incontrovertible]

I am leaning towards MWO but who has the courage to correct Chuck Maddox and I know that Gregoire is probably displaying the wrong watch in the book

Odd boy has very graciously offered to assist in Crowd sourcing the answers, once the web pages are up ,and we may get to a balance of probabilities answer

but I can categorically assure you that neither Alain from the museum exhibits ,David who is the Museum watchmaker, and Charles who is in charge of the entire omega archives are by no way as informed about this model as probably the forum is today and so we are compelled to have to research this amongst experts and knowledgeable collectors

And don’t get me started on the seamaster 1000 ha ha ha

To me (and according my experiences), 809 endlinks are the ones the watches came with.

Thank you. I was quite confident about it to be correct but I'm happy to have the confirmation. Will pick it up from the bank and provide with some more photographs. I've been lucky to pick it up with box and papers when the frenzy was just about to start 😀

1450 / 809 for me too 👍

Well, once again thanks to oddboy for his observations and I must also thank Herold for his contribution...I must say that I lean towards to 809 being correct /and or original but Chuck did NOT as he offered to source the’ correct’ 808 replacements.....nor did other forum members believe in the 809 as in the thread posted by Chuck Maddox from Chicago in July 19th 2007

The 809 is a ‘gapless ‘ fit ....the 808 grapes and it seems to be not specifically for the grail

And then we have the 1479 with the 812 end links also a better fitting alternative than the 808

Alberto Isnarndi is a yes .....MWO makes no mention .....I have now seen over 60 Watches with a small smattering of 1479 of theses from Japan and Singapore ...was this a local area selection ,was it a late issue amendment, or was it a post 1990 service replacement ?

Answers? I don’t know but the variation is out there

Box[ red not green I presume ] and papers now I am excited

Exactly, the typical dark red box from the 80ies (seen with 345.0809 Moonphase sometimes with a lighter red color) and papers stamped and dated 'Natale 88' (Christmas 1988) - According to the Omega Extract watch delivered to Italy in 1987.

The 808 end-links I have them on the 1447 bracelet delivered with the 345.0808 20-years Flight qualified numbered LE from 1985.

My understanding is that 809 were specific to the taller 376.022 case. 808 were for the standard moon watch case. 1450 was used on both cases, but the 809's being slightly taller were specific and unique to the Holy Grail.

Maybe I can get EdistoJim to post some scans of his Grails? He has worn one and the other is still in the box.
Best of all, unlike me, he takes really great scans 😀
