Crosshair says textbook re-dial but the dial itself made me pause

Personally I don’t believe that’s a redial. I suppose it’s conceivable that the crosshairs were added.

The fonts seem correct, a little dirt on the dial. The crosshairs look original to me. As @M'Bob says, if it's a redial they did a darn good job.

Is it from a Japanese seller?

Partial redial; thick crosshair added when the minute track was repaired

I don't think it has been doctored. Some later Omegas have broken crosshairs and though this one is normally seen with unbroken lines, I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of variation in later DeVilles.

Agree. If the serial is a later one, I think this is likely unusual but original.

Yeah it is one of closer's watches, biggest seller from Japan, my interest is purely scientific

This is the only other dial angle, I think the 43 minute mark was a crystal fluke, for me the logo looked like it could've been glued, but from this angle it looks good as well, didn't notice it before but from this angle there's something like a water intrusion

Nice to learn about broken crosshairs @ConElPueblo - Thanks

Edit: From this angle the minute marks are exceeding the indices, another flag but I don't know if it matters since it's potentially an unusual dial variation

I can't imagine imagine the amount of work involved to do that properly? On a cheap seamaster...

I mean, there are lots of reasons to be a little cautious or even paranoid in the watch world. But that dial looks right to me. Most defects are from the beat up crystal imho.

If that a redial I want to hire whoever did it.

the only thing that flags is the hour hash on the date window.

normally added crosshairs don’t perfectly gap the fonts and are placed under the applied logos.

My guess is original dial, crosshair was added on.

Never seen one with unbroken lines. Btw the patina looks good and I find also that one that looks genuine
