Rare Connie dial on Ebay

Now it's not often that we see original and early Constellation dials come up for sale on Ebay, or anywhere else for that matter. Here's a very nice black rail track dial for I think the reference 14393...anyway the date version of the 14381.

I've only seen a couple examples of this ref with the black rail track dial, I believe @qazwsx1 has recently acquired one. Anyway a great opportunity to upgrade a vanilla dome dial or so if you have one lying around ( no offence all you dome dial lovers out there 馃榿 )....with the only stumbling block the very high asking price of $2150, although fortunately the seller is taking offers.

If I was in the market I'd be happy paying up to probably around $750-850 for this dial

On a auction with no reserve price I bet it could fetch even more than those 850$

Nicely spotted @cristos71 馃憤
Yea id tend to agree, its uncommon enough to find that someone will really want it

Nice spot Cristos. Most black railtracks I have seen have degradation on the dial. This one is very good. Too bad the crazy price

That鈥檚 the problem with this dial - pretty much only non-luminous YG accent pie pan or railtrack Connies will have the correct hand length. Most dome dials have longer hands.

Those Arabic numerals... 馃グ

I don't think the cost is too far off; any collector buying this would (should!) have it as a keeper in his or her permanent collection.

DO IT! Ebay says there's one offer in on right now.

If it was in Europe I'd have given it a shot, but it's just too much hassle here in NL with importation.

That's true...but who ever said that a project should be easy? 馃槈馃榿

Oh yeah, it didn鈥檛 stop me from submitting an outrageously high offer.

Haha I was already out, he鈥檚 not interested in my offer. It鈥檚 also a legitimate concern.. I went through all Connies I鈥檝e ever owned and none fit the bill for this dial.

It was sold for $1750. Anyone from here bought it?
The price doesn鈥檛 really surprise me as if someone has a mint case, that鈥檚 going to be one hell of a nice watch, hopefully it does turn up here on someone鈥檚 wrist

I tried to negotiate with the seller. He said he wouldn't sell for less than 2k as he received two offers at 1750 and 1875. I am kind of surprised that it was sold for ONLY 1750

Could be postal reasons. Sometimes I sell something for less when I know shipping is easier.

This dial looks very problematic to me. Scripts & serif are a little bit too thick, and markers have been removed before.
