    Hi all,
there has been a white-dialed Ranchero on EBAY yesterday. You will be able to find it when searching for bought items. Was sold within minutes for direct buy around 2000 USD.
The dial appeared original but I was questioning myself whether the lume on the dial was original or relumed. It seemed only little patinated and from the pictures I could not recon the typical radium grain size. Looking at the many different pictures on the web it also appears that especially the radium lume on the dial often shows signs of hand-made pasting with imperfections (slightly non-symmetric paste on the to be pasted areas, etc.)
Any ideas from your side on the sold watch and its dial lume?
Nice price though for the buyer I would say.

Congrats! You lucky one ;-) I was just saving the pics and the text for my private archive of Ranchero's sold and when I refreshed the offer two minutes later it was sold. Good job ;-)

    Well done.
So the ranchero was a earlier model to the deville?

Not sure about the Deville but the Ranchero was sold in 1958-1959.

I guess someone got to the seller before he shipped.
Watch fell during packing and now “isn’t ticking”
    Sale cancelled. Money refunded

Perhaps the cigar was a bit much :D

Anyway, the Ranchero was over-polished and luckily I have nicer examples

Best of luck to the new back stabbing buyer and crooked seller. ::censored:::whipped:

Just kidding - obviously. That sucks. But yeah, consolation is that it wasn't the steal and deal of the year. How much more would should one really have been willing to spend on this one? As stated, it looks like it polished to the width of a potato chip.

Good advice @BenBagbag. I guess I got away relatively unscathed. Look at those poor sellers who got shafted in Stockholm earlier today. Not the 2915-2 seller since he rushed into an auction house without doing his homework.....and he was forewarned here.

My heart goes out to the 2914-3 Railmaster owner who maybe netted $7k for a gorgeous looking example.

Yup. And the crown is incorrect as well.
Seriously, the plan was to swap in a nicer spare case.
Sometimes plans don’t quite work out.
