I am trying to find info on this watch along with estimated value. I was with my Grandfather when he purchased it in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1969. The stem was replaced with 14K gold as the 18K was too soft. The band is marked 750.
The watch runs perfectly. There is no box, (I remember is was rectangular and ornate) box was left in Europe.

Looks like a Seamaster 2975, but with date ?
New to me or prototype ?
I would be curious to see the reference which is inside the case back, so you have to have the watch opened by some watchmaker.

Odd no visible hallmarks. Sea monster looks...
    Is the back Stainless?

Could be ref. 2849 with a cal 503 inside. Definitely older than 1969 by at least a decade.

The bracelet could be worth more than the watch as is certainly more desirable in my opinion.

Wouldn't think 14K would be a robust material choice for a stem either...

    Hi Omegastar,
You are right. It is not 2975. Ref.2975 is a no calendar.and is powered by cal.501.
Iceman's watch is rare. Maybe it is a ref.2943, powered by cal.503. The dial appears to be a gold dial. The most amazing part is with a matching 18k solid gold bracelet. The case is probably 18k gold.
    Congratulations, Iceman.
Any chances that you can have the watch opened and take photos of the cases back and movement? So that the ref. and caliber can be known. Thanks.

Perhaps, I would like to share my Ref. 2975 in 18K gold case below.
Hope you respectful members will like it.

I think you made a mistake there as the 2943 is a Constellation reference powered by a 504

The hallmarks are probably on the side of the case.

I find myself intrigued by this one... And the bracelet ;)

    Thanks cristos71.
    Sorry for the mistake. Corrected.
I thought Constellation Calender is only ref.2954. In fact it shares another ref.2943. That is evidenced in one of my Calendar Connie below
    Cheers,

Since it was bought in 1969, wouldn't it be odd if it was a four digit reference?
Looks a lot like the 166.010, which is also available in solid gold, though the ones I could dig out all have their hallmarks on the rear of the lugs... And weren't marked with "Calendar" which is a fifties thing, IIRC.

If this turns out the be a plated or capped watch + poor photos I'll be soooo disappointed :(

In fact that case is a 2975 case, you can not mistake it with any other. The problem is the date.
The hallmarks could be next to the hooks of the bacelet, I can see something but I am not sure.
I am also very curious to see the inside.
