Hi there,
Great, thanks for sharing. 馃榾
Nice bracelet, Rancheros look superb on bracelets despite never being supplied with one originally.
I believe I have the details of the Portuguese delivered one, was it delivered 30th January 1959 ? Details of the other would be appreciated 馃憤

Great, many thanks. I have records of 3 currently delivered to Venezuela, 2 white 1 black so fingers crossed. Italy currently holds the record for most deliveries recorded with 16 馃榾

End link 4 may fit the 2990 case but the Ranchero was not supplied with a bracelet. The 2990 case was also a Seamaster reference so matching end links and bracelet were likely associated with that

Hi.
Interesting topic, I too have a Ranchero from the Extrakt it appears that it was sold to the US 6th Fleet. How to qualify the 6th fleet as Italian or American ? Rather, it was sold in a duty-free military casino and has little to do with the military. Although the shield has some military raids.

Would this be considered a white dial ranchero? Pretty close to NOS - original strap, buckle, box and hangtag.

I have a couple of these dress types. The hands always have the flat cut on the hour hand toward the center of the dial on the luminous. The Ranchero is very thin font. No markings on crown. My dials were extremely worn as far as lettering. All of the originals seemed to be marked 鈥渟inger鈥漮n the back. My 2996 had a silver dial with silver markers. This seemed less common.

How close does this come to being a real Ranchero? This is on eBay and ends later this evening. I believe the hands are incorrect, I thought they are supposed to be arrows, anything else glaringly obvious?

It鈥檚 a franken. That鈥檚 a reference 2937 case which came out in 1956, two years before the Ranchero 2990/2996 case debuted in 1958. The dauphine hands can be correct for a Ranchero, but the versions with broad arrow hands are more valuable. The small seconds hand on this watch is an incorrect replacement. I鈥檇 have to see better photos of the dial to comment further, but I would avoid this watch.

Too many serifs on the numerals. I'm pretty sure, that dial was completely made new in Vietnam.

Whatever it is, that dial is categorically not an original Ranchero dial

Thanks for the info. Would love to have a Ranchero but a correct one please.

Just my opinion, the rarest are the black dress dial silver markers silver hands with luminous.
