Although I do not agree with your overall judgement your strap looks awesome on your Railmaster. And therefore you’ve got a like. 😎

Hahaha, many thanks and congratulations on acquiring your latest piece! That RMLE is a masterpiece.

Pulled the trigger today:

On the bracelet, the Explorer wins hands down. But on a strap? That’s Omega’s game.

I have to say that on a bracelet or strap...the Railmaster LE is looking very good🥰. I think I might have to visit my local OB next week and do a serious hands-on evaluation.

It could be a great companion to my Class 94😀

What does piss me off is that in Rio/Brazil a Railmaster LE is currently priced at BRL R$26,900.00 or US$8,100.00 (dollar tourist exchange rate at R$3.32).

Perhaps next year when I visit the UK I might still be able to get one and benefit from a weak pound + 20% VAT discount...or I might be lucky to find one in Houston, Toronto or Vancouver in an upcoming business trip...

Well first step is checking it out live...hopefully I will find time to evaluate and report back next week.

That’s a whopping EUR 600 higher MSRP. 😵‍💫

I think US$ 1200.00 compared to US retail, which is not hugely significant in the actual amount, but when you see that Omega have marked up the watch at the same price as a Globemaster here in Rio...well I don't explicitly like being a PT Barnum's 60s birth child

I find it remarkable how different the MSRPs are from country to country...with Canadian duty charges however, it is almost always more expensive for us to buy outside the Country...

I can understand different pricing across the board for ALL Omega watches due to local taxes etc..what I don't appreciate is selectively marking up specific watches at a higher rate, apprently based on demand. I am not aware of any other country where a RM LE is sold at exactly the same retail price offered for a Globemaster, clearly a more spohisticated watch (double barrel calibre, jumping hour hand, fluted bezel, exhibiton case back, applied indices....etc)

I find that the Railmaster (especially the 60LE version) is much better suited to a leather strap. The Explorer (like pretty much all modern Rolex sports watches) looks better on a bracelet.
I ended up with both...so give consideration for what you want to wear it with: strap, bracelet, or NATO.

why not go for the trilogy Railmaster. Best of all Railmasters in my opinion.

Did you ever try the Explorer on a strap?
I think the RM LE does bracelets, straps, NATOs all well and as much as I like my Globemaster the RM is so much more for being less (if that makes sense?).

If only the 2nd picture is properly focused.

Look at the way the Explorer's bracelet is integrated with the watch and how it fits nicely. Overall, it is of great proportions and presents a very wholesome image.

Looks good on the strap..

Great strap/watch combination!
You should try to install curved springbars, as the end of the strap rubs against the case. 🙁
As it is now, it will certainly scratch the band and leave rub marks over time on the case.
Just had curved springbars installed on the 116600 with a Borealis diver strap. 👍

You're quite right, of course. But I actually don't mind the rub marks - I think it quite adds to the "distressed" look. Most of my watches I like to keep pristine, but with the Explorer the kid gloves are removed.. 😀

Whatever floats your boat 👍
Sandpaper can also help to add an aged look 🙄

Natural aging is one thing. Faux aging is another. "Cough" Trilogy watches.😗

Rail master has the classic look that is more appealing to me.

I have reached the following conclusions during several trips to my local OB this year to try out the Railmaster 60th LE. As noted above and elsewhere I am also as a modern Rolex Explorer owner.

Conclusion 1
For me it is not "either / or" with the Explorer and Railmaster 60th LE. At some stage in your collection you will probably want to own both😀

Conclusion 2
I used to think the Railmaster looked better on a strap, but on the wrist, the bracelet looks superb, giving the watch a modern edge. Shout out to the superb sunset picture by @Longbow in this thread showing off the crystal and the bracelet integration with the case.

What makes the Railmaster 60th truly unique IMO is the mix of modern and vintage, sporty and classy, and this "vibe" is much more accentuated with the bracelet. Don't get me wrong, I also think the Ralmaster looks great on a strap, but then it becomes perhaps just "another" vintage three hander.

The photo below from Bexsonn below started my "conversion" to the Railmaster bracelet fan club:

🥰

Conclusion 3
I think it is only a question of time before I join the Railmaster 60th club. I will certainly hold the OF Railmaster 60th "sirens" Longbow, Munichblue and Theognois 100% responsible for the purchase😀
