What are you going to do. Take it off your wrist every time you see your uncles?

You don't say how old your father was, when he met your mother or how old your grandfather was.

If your grandfather wore it since new. I'm sure your uncles must remember it or don't. If your father wore it when he met your mother. I'm sure he wore it around his brothers.

Is your father the oldest? If so. Oldest most of the time was the first to inherit something from their father and that makes it your fathers and now yours. Your uncles have no claim to it.

Are your uncles smartphone sauvey? Are they going to start snapping images and doing Google searches?

Highly doubt your uncles will even notice and even if they did. I'm sure you can beat them in a fight over it

Thanks Don,
My Dad was the middle child. 26 when he met my Mother. He died 9 years ago and I have all his stuff. His Dad died when my Dad was 14 after they played a round of golf together. Laid down to take a nap and never got up. His older brother was much older and out of the house and his younger brother was much younger. This is why I think he ended up with the watch.

While I might win a fight over it I would like to avoid that and any other fallout that may occur.

I don’t see my uncles often as we don’t live in the same country.

As with most families there are other things I am not including here.

So I guess it's only for a day or two you don't need to wear it

Don't fight over a Watch. It's only a " Thing ". You never know, when you need your extended Family. They matter.Things don't. Kind regards. Achim

I'm kind of in the same situation with my fathers watch. He gave it to me before he passed, but I've never brought it up to my siblings for some of the same reasons mentioned earlier. Sad, but it's just how things/people are sometimes..

Good luck with your treasure!

I sent mine to Archer, and he returned it to me so beautifully cleaned and running it made me cry when I opened the box (seriously).

I now wear it on special occasions, and it always brings back a flood of memories of my dad and his very special watch.

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of yours after you've had it serviced! 😀

My dad is wise for giving his special things to his kids as he chooses when he is still alive. No one dare question him.

Enjoy your dad's watch. I know how powerful these talismans can be.
