Yes, partly Soane.
Here is the house from about 1/3 the way down the South Avenue.
I know the grounds very well having been commissioned by the National Trust to survey potential bicycle routes around the estate resulting in about 150 photos and maps to show where the pictures were taken and the existing surface condition.
That was in 2007 and last year the circuit was actually built.
That sounds like a lovely job to have.. Were you using drones to plan the routes?
I'm guessing geophysical archaeological surveys would have to be done to safely make way for new routes??
I thought I recognised it from Soanes catalog; that is to say the familiar motif for the design of his wife's tomb St. Pancras Old Church, that inspired Gilbert Scott's telephone box, I seem to remember from images at the Soanes Museum, him using this kind of structure on a much larger scale inside of Wimpole House??
Not a job, just my paramotoring hobby when I lived in the UAE. Drones were in their infancy then, so had to use an early iPhone and try not to drop it while flying. An interesting observation regarding the similarity to Soanes Tomb - I see what you mean.
Outside and inside the Red Bull Air Race pylon 馃榿 .
The air gates are made up of one or two pylons, each about 25m high (spaced 10 to 15 metres apart ). If a plane makes contact with a pylon, it is designed to breakaway or tear, with the air-pressurized structure falling away immediately. 2nd photo not mine, but a nice image.
Is that a pig!?
Haha yup! My wife and I toured a huge coffee plantation yesterday and the owners told us that there were several feral pigs on the grounds. That one just had babies, which we didn鈥檛 see.
However, we did see this monster. And no, this isn鈥檛 zoomed in. Just put my hand/phone close to it. It was the size of my palm.
