My first thought: I'd hire a guide to take me to the top of the pointiest peak!
I guess you could do that 👍

Went to Oklahoma City over the weekend to watch my daughter compete in an equestrian show jumping event. Then THIS happened:

Amazing shot

Then THIS happened:

I think that I’ll stay on the East Coast. It’s safer.

I'm fairly certain this is a Norman Foster-designed turbine, they look so much more elegant and thoughtful than all of the other designs, not that I'm a particular fan of Norman Foster's architecture; Richard Rogers for example, a contemporary of Foster is/was by far my favorite of that generation; but Foster also offers an option to have a viewing platform that juts out just beneath the rotator element.. I'd love to go up one of these even though I have very intense acrophobia, I try to push myself to stay in those uncomfortable situations in order to feel more comfortable in the future, but there are certain things that I could never do, especially when on the outside looking over a precipice..

Wimpole House, looking down the South Avenue. Photo taken July 2007 from a Skyranger "microlight" after delivering some newly made spare parts from my friend's machine shop to the UK importer. Not my aircraft but I was flying this leg.

Sir John Soane?? Maybe partly Soane?? One of my favorite Architects of that era..

Yes, partly Soane.
Wikipedia said:
Over the centuries many notable architects have worked on it, including James Gibbs (between 1713 and 1730), Henry Flitcroft (around 1749), John Soane (1790s), and H. E. Kendall (1840s).[14] There are decorative schemes by the painter James Thornhill (1721).

Here is the house from about 1/3 the way down the South Avenue.

I know the grounds very well having been commissioned by the National Trust to survey potential bicycle routes around the estate resulting in about 150 photos and maps to show where the pictures were taken and the existing surface condition.

That was in 2007 and last year the circuit was actually built.
