Does this watch contain any radium?
I know theres a high risk since its made in 1959. Seller say its empty of lume and therefore contains no radium. Whats your say?

Looking at that picture there appears to be lume on both the hands and dial. Dial is not market T T and its 50s so radium is the likely suspect. I wouldn’t be worried to wear it though.

If radium is present, there is little risk as long as the case is intact.

I'd be more concerned about the integrity of the seller than the radium. 😁

I remove the doubt and stick to watches without tritium or radium. Would rather not have to worry about half-life calculations and speculation.

I can understand your concern about radium since it is highly radioactive and has a 1,600 year half life. Tritium is quite different. It’s far less radioactive than radium and has a half life of only 12 years. I can’t imagine not having a Speedmaster with an aged tritium dial in my collection.
