Hello, everyone. Thank you all for everything. We'll give you a quiz. How many times has this watch been polished? Please answer in numbers. Tip. I bought this watch new in 1995 and have worn it for many years! I wore it every day for the first 20 years or so from the time of purchase, and then once or three times a month after that. participation award LIKE from me. You can join us if you like.
Ok.. you've had the watch for 25 years and probably, like most, have either, never had it serviced or had it serviced at most twice. My vote is for 1X, and not recently.
Clever.. yes, "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy"... The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything is 42.
So the question was “How many times has it been polished?” It being life and the universe! So we’re in the 42nd version of the simulation then...
Polishing requires time and energy to perform. However, the more constrained one is, the less constrained the other is, so it is entirely possible that, for jolly short periods of time, the watch’s energy could be highly uncertain, so much so that mid-case particles could actually appear out of thin air, well a vacuum to be more precise. The problem is that these mid-case particles will appear in pairs as matter and antimatter, annihilating one another after only the most perfunctory introductions. So it is not possible to know with certainty if it is or isn’t as long as we are looking at it. If we were to throw it at the ground and quickly look away just before impact we might be able to ascertain it’s relative mass by the presence or absence of any ensuing thud. If there isn’t a thud then it has clearly missed the ground and learned to fly thus we may conclude it has been polished 42 times. If there is a thud then sadly you will need a new Rolex.
