What are your thoughts on the originality of the following dials? My concerns:
1. Missing partial “1” on the 11 o’clock marker
2. Variation in spacing between the 7 o’clock marker which contacts the periphery of the lower subdial while the 5 o’clock marker does not
3. Font variation of “SWISS” between the two dials

I'm no expert on Gallet but the black dial gives me pause due to the "alignment" cut at 12:00 which in many cases is done by a redialer.

Redialers often don’t seem to bother with fletching detail on arrows. Personally, these dials seem ok.

Very good point Larry.

I am not a Gallet expert, but having looked at many '30s and '40s chronograph dials, these look original.

So which hand(s) are correct for this model? My take is that H hand should be leaf and that chronograph sweep second should be red with a counter balance.

IMO ….The hour hand is correct. it needs a blue baton minute and either a boat tail or round tail chrono hand.

I discovered that the dial I repainted was probably a Gallet. My program matches that exactly including the covered 11 and 12. The other dial has lume dots rather than the number.
The watch currently has syringe hands on it. Here is a new photograph of the dial with the hand.
The other watch is missing all but the hour hand.

Not sure why I did it this way. The minute hand hub is still mounted. The movements have not been cleaned and one of them is missing a bridge jewel on the sweep balance. My guess is that I was more interested in testing the dial making process. The crystal is a recent addition as the movements and cases are all mixed up. The hand either broke sometime in the last decade or so. Or I saved the hub as I had intended to see if I could make new hands using the grinding laps I got back in the 1990s.
I am also including the master artwork I created. This is why I think I over painted the Gallet dial. I used the standard fonts and kerning rather than to match the existing fonts. So the maker name is off centered. I may have combined elements from different dials to create this fantasy.

Still trying to source blued hands in either baton or leaf design without much luck. Any recommendations as to where I’m most likely to find something?
