Question for Omega electronic chronometer "F300" - New Lume Applied

Hi everyone! I have the chance to buy this watch for around 450 USD which i think is a great price given the condition of the watch. After closer inspection of the pictures posted for the watch, i noticed that there is some white stuff on the hour indices and when i asked the seller what that is he mentioned that new lume as applied to get back the glow in the dark feature of the watch, Obviously i would have preferred to have it in the original state with no new lume applied. I sitll like the way it looks but i am not sure if this is something which really devalues the watch or not really...Let me know what you think! thanks for your help everyone

Also the watch is a 198.001 but it says 196.001 on the case back which i find weird but does not disprove its authenticity in my opinion.

As an novice this, I must say that the re lume is a bit uneven, but its white on white so who cares?

Beautiful watch, congratulations!

I do like the blue back light on the date, really cool 😉

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing. Not sure if someone knows if it can be removed one day maybe?

That's a terribly sloppy re-lume. To me, it is green, not white, and highly visible in the photos.

To me it looks green, even in the light.

Ok thanks for the input…would appreciate if you can help by answering the questions. Can it be removed? Does it devalue the watch? Thanks

Can it be removed? Maybe. Sometimes it is difficult to remove entirely and some remnants will remain. It can probably be improved somewhat by removing the current lume and replacing it with something better.

Does it devalue the watch? In principle, yes, but it's not a particularly valuable watch anyway, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Sloppy re-lume.

Personally it would bug the hell out of me so I would probably pass, but that's me.

Depends on the used Lume material. Water based Tritium = Yes. Later stuff with different binding agents = No without a trace. That sticks to the Dial Paint a lot more and you might ruin the Dial.

Other than the lume issue, the case is also incorrectly mirror-polished. The bezel is supposed to be radially brushed with the lugs satin-finished.

You can do much better for the price.

On the surface a nice looking f300, under the skin, many issues. Take a pass.
