So i am looking to getting a pie pan for my dad to replace one he had years ago and I have read several different threads and other articles discussing the constellation pie pan. But i came across this on eBay and according to the descriptions it supposedly has all original parts however the dial looks to be incorrect as its missing a 3rd line of text i believe. But do you guys see anything else out of the ordinary about this watch?

14900 without Officially Certified is correct. No T next to Swiss Made is also correct.
    Everything looks ok.

Thanks hoipolloi for the input. That Officially Certified not being there was really throwing me off.

Looks like a really nice watch.
    Lovely dial.
Slightly polished case but understandable for a gold cap watch that is at least 56 years old.
(Gold cap watches were never quite as sharp as SS even when new)
    BOR looks pretty good too.
Make sure you factor in a service, the old seal is split so it definitely needs one.

$1600 shipped. They wanted $1825 but I noticed after searching completed auctions on eBay it had been listed for over a month with no bites. So I sent the user a message and we settled on $1600 given it’s a vintage watch store I knew the prices were going to be somewhat higher than an individual. Given the condition of the dial and having all original parts and plus I’ve been searching for months and found quite a few in worse condition or redialled horrifically I figured I would be hard pressed to find another in such good condition. Not sure if the price is too high but I recently had someone offer me a stainless version albeit a 168.010 for $2000 which was also all original.

I figured was going to need a service but didn’t even pick up on the split seal in the pics. Thank you.

Done! Will post updated pics in natural light once I received. Hopefully the weather in Houston will play nice as it’s been cloudy and raining for weeks.

Thanks all for the kind words and seriously you guys on here are a great source for tons of info that I never would of been able to locate without hours of google and being able to identify correct vintage watches. Really could not have made this decision without the info and input.

So just got off the phone with my parents and showed them the pics. Dad was impressed that it looks really good for it’s age but said it was pricey (my dad doesn’t get adjusting for inflation from 1950s pricing and onwards). But he commented that since it’s so expensive compared to what he bought one of his first omegas for he would not accept it and told me he would gift it back for my 10th wedding anniversary. However he cautioned me that since it’s a gold metal bracelet that I should look at probably getting a leather strap for it for daily use if I want. Any ideas of where to get a good leather strap made or should I just check eBay and look for the correct omega buckles?

Nice watch and great that you can see see the gold cap on the case when its turned over

Wear the bracelet - its 14k gold filled, so its not like its solid gold or anything precious

But if you want to wear on leather, many many different strap makers out there - i like Hirsch ( good quality and good value for money) but there are many more

Search for threads on straps, and you will get a good idea of what looks good ( or not)

    Thank you.
Thank you. I just finished looking thru the one for straps and had not even done the search for buckles. So appreciate the link.

It finally arrived today. Took a few quick pictures outside as it was starting to get dark.
