Question about my new Seamaster 300

I've just a bought a BNIB Seamaster 300 Master Coaxial. Not the Bond version, the regular one. I am thrilled with the watch, and am deciding if I want to brush the rather shiny bracelet. I'll wear it for a while before I decide.

The question I have is regarding the red cards that come with the watch - I got two, the pictogram card and the warranty card. Should I have got a third? The chronometer card?

I bought through a reliable online source. I have the shipping box, inner and outer boxes, watch shipping coffin, hangtag, manual etc so no concern about the legitimacy just curious if Omega still use the chronometer cards and if this watch should come with one.

Thanks!

Hi Neilp

Yeah i bought my SM 300 M CoAx regular version 3 mths ago & replaced the PCL bracelet with the OEM JB Nato from the Omega Boutique.
As far as i can recall , i only have the warranty & the pictogram cards with the COSC logo stamped on the pictogram card. I always assume the 3rd 'master' chronometer card with an identification number will only be issued to the METAS certified Omegas beginning with the Globemasters. I'm no expert so we just have to listen to what the guys in the forum have to say.

OK, that makes me feel better. Bit confusing the whole thing. Not that I am too concerned as I buy watches to wear and enjoy primarily, not too worried about the resale as I never seem to be able to sell any!!

Seems Rolex is the same way now. We bought the brother-in-law a 116610 and it came only with the green plastic warranty card and paper manual. My older Rolex's came with the paper certificate with the double stamping.

I'm not sure when Omega stopped issuing the COSC card, but the last Omega I bought that had it was a PO 8500 from 2012. The Speedy '57 from last year only had the red warranty and pictogram card.

I think it's been over a year, but it depends on how long the dealer had a given watch in stock. Several months before Basel 2015 people started noticing the COSC card missing but it was confusing for a while as some watches that had been in inventory longer still had them while the "fresher" watches didn't. Then it made sense when they announced the new METAS testing at Basel. As Meganfox17 points out METAS watches like the GM will come with a new chronometer card.

Omega no longer has a COSC card..it's on the pictogram card now. The new MASTER CHRONOMETER watches do come with a third card now. Also, all new watches coming in now will have their serial numbers on the cards again.

So are all Master CoAxial watches Master Chronometers? I'm guessing that's a "no" but talk about a confusion of similar terminology.

Not yet, but probably within a couple years they'll all be upgraded to the METAS standard, after all the lines go through mid-cycle facelifts / redesigns.

Usually you will get 2 cards. One is the pictogram with watch ref.#
The other card is purchase date, watch serial, and the AD or Boutique name.
