Question about Bulova Oceanographer dial

    I came across this Bulova dial, which is said to be for an Oceanographer from the 1960s. It does look to be the dial for an Oceanographer "F", but every other example I found has "Oceanographer" printed on the dial. Some examples given below.

    I'm wondering if this sort of variation is normal for the period. I don't see any signs of cleaning or repainting, and would guess it's original. I think it's a pretty cool looking dial/watch. Thanks

    I did some more digging and came across some catalog/ad material that appear to show the variant above. The 1969/1970 "F" looks to omit "Oceanographer" from the dial.

    Personally I would want an example with "Oceanographer" on the dial, I just think it's more interesting.
