I'm Italian but I live in France. I have 2 italian accounts an 1 french account For the italian I pay fees of 5% until 2000€ and 2% over 2000€ -
For the french account fees are 10% until 2000€ and 2% over 2000€ but every week there is a promotion of -60% or -70% of the fees.
For me is good to sell on eBay at this conditions. The problems with eBay are others, I cite just one as an example: as a seller you are less protect than buyers, for the 80% of cases eBay give reason to buyers

Yes, customs delay is a pain. I (EC resident) occassionally purchse via eBay from UK sellers, and the items typically are stuck in customs for weeks, often months. If the item was sent using Royal Mail, the responsibilty is transfered to DHL or Deutsche Post upon entry in Germany. It is these two, who are responsible for customs delay, because they do not attend to the necessay formalities. Even more funny, if you track at DHL/Deutsche Post, the tracking number is "unknown" to them. If you track via other tracking services, you get the message that the item is located at the German customs. And waiting, and waiting, and waiting there ...
