I have just had the same problem.
The old gasket glues the step ring to the case and movement so this is what I did.
I pulled the crown out (split stem) and then got a small steel rod with a small curve on the end, I pushed it down the case tube and gently levered the step ring up from outside, it was solid at first, I found putting the watch face up on a warm radiator for 5 minutes helped ease things up a little. Take it slowly and gently.
My brass ring had lost its black in a few places so I brushed it with a fibre pen and then dropped it into Brass black which turned it back to black almost instantly. The finish it just like factory now. If you have dings on your step ring use wet and dry on a very flat surface to get them out, sanding in a circular fashion is best, clean it furiously with a fibre pen and finish with panel wipe, then drop it in brass black.
The gooey gasket had got onto the movement and even on the date wheel stopping it working correctly. It cleans off with gentle perseverance.

The gaskets on your watch look drier than mine so a tiny bit of silicone free lube might help on the outer edge of the ring furthest away from the dial, I would be very careful though.

Good luck and show is when you finish please.

Here’s mine which I did a couple of weeks ago.
Looks great!!!!!

Now I'm getting a bit impatient..... You got all the help so far. Now do your own research and find the missing parts. It's all out there. Find it.

even the rubber segment ?
I think the rubber segment is just a regular gasket with a bit cut out isn't it?

sorry Achim I know you can find many things on e bay but the most of it is in america so for me it is easyer in europe . And I am wondering how is the rubber segment ?Is it the second glass seal that you cut ? is it in rubber or plastique because french original omega papers says plastique ? Thanks Michael for your answer .

What are the part numbers you're looking for? Did you receive the part I found for you and what did that comprise? Is it a one piece ring, or two pieces?

Cheers, Chris

Hello Chris i am just looking for the glass seals , rubber segment but I don’t really know what it is . The 2 crowns seals .I am in discussions on mp with Ash and it seams that only the crown kit is available. Apparently he as got everything.
I haven’t receive the step ring yet it was sent yesterday . On the photo it looks in one part and exactly the same as mine . Anyway thank you very much for it because mine is really bad now .
Regards

I put my movement in first then the rubber segment on the first ledge with the cut out being where the stem comes through the case. My step ring was in two parts so I fitted the lower brass part and then the second whole gasket and then the top plastic part of the step ring last.
Hope that helps.

For the crown, there is a complete kit with seals, crown, nut etc but, the two seals are:
Omega 088NS0028 Flat seal diameter 4.7 to 6.4 with thickness of 0.4 mm
Omega 088NS0606 O ring seal diameter 2.2 to 4.2 with thickness of diameter 1.0 mm

Your watchmaker can probably get these seals or something suitable but for full water resistance, a new crown kit would be ideal. These part numbers and information are freely available.

From my notes, the glass seal for the black ring is:
Omega 088NS5129 O ring seal diameter 29.0 to 31.0 with thickness of diameter 1.0 mm

Again, this information is readily available. You should look for a watchmaker who understands these cases and can go through this with you. All of these sizes can be worked out from the various part dimensions.

Cheers, Chris

Hello Chris Thanks for these very good informations specialy the exact size of the seals.
I ordered crown kit and the 2 glass rings with Ash yesterday. If I had your message before I would have look here in new caledonia to find the right adaptable o ring but too late now .I just hope that original omega seals are not as bad as the one I had in my watch and that totally leaked in the box !
for information the movement has been totally dismantle by my friend watchmaker clean and now it works perfectly like a new one.
So now my question is relume or not relume and leave the dial as it is ??
Regards

I think you will get much more pleasure looking at the watch with a good relume (James Hyman), some will say leave it as is but if you get a good relume the watch will look great IMO and will be a joy to wear.

I agree with Michael, in this case a relume will make it more of a pleasure to wear.

I had the same situation with this Navitimer.
I did not enjoy wearing until I relumed it.
I'm no professional but it looks better to me.
It was not very attractive to my eye with dark green lume.

Thanks everyone for your help. Now I have to wait for parts and the relume. My daughter is coming to new Caledonia end of july so she will bring back all the parts. Post mail is very bad and I don't want to take any risk .I will let you know anyway and post a photo of the final result .

Hello everyone .
My ploprof is finally finished .James Hyman did a very good job. I had to order an small part for the mouvment that is why everything took a lot of time.
Anyway I am very happy with the result .The watch is not perfect but 100% original except the isofrane bracelet that is new. That is what I wanted...
The watch is working perfectly and totally waterproof .
Thanks to everyone for your help is this restoration .
