My apologies if this are the wrong page to ask a question. I am a long time Omega owner, 1961 Constellation to my recent 3861. I have been a forum member for over 4 years but tend to read posts rather than Post them. I am looking for an older Railmaster but looking at the rules they state I require 200 plus posts to put a search request in the “Wanted to buy” section. Am I interpreting the rules correctly? I have currently 17 posts.

I would simply scan through the for sale sections as it won't be hard to spot an example of what you're looking for, if there is one.

That is the rule and I don't think there are any exceptions:

You can contribute to the forum by answering simple questions by newbies. Here is an example of one I just did:

https://omegaforums.net/threads/watch-repairer-sydney-au.154700/#post-2110010

Good luck on your search for a Railmaster.

and if you answered all his threads on that watch you would be double your posts

( @dsio you may want to merge this one also)

A nice, polite way of posting a WTB ad while indicating one already knows they need 200 posts to do so. 😉

Not at all, I just wanted confirmation that I would need to post 182 pointless posts to put out feelers for a watch. I could see the point if I was selling. Regards.

You could have reached out to one of the moderators via a PM and sought the confirmation. But you chose to seek conformation by stating what you're looking to purchase.

Pointless posts get removed from your post count.

you are more then free to respond to any watches for sale. As you are not yet a verified member of the community with skin in the game for your reputation the forum has chosen not to passively endorse new or unknown members by allowing them to post in the for sale or wanted forums.

You've been a member for over five years, yet only a handful of posts. This is an enthusiast's community for people who like to interact with others about all things watches and related items, particularly Omega watches. You would only have needed to post 3 or 4 times a month to get to the 200 post point after five years. A few well thought posts a month would not be automatically considered pointless. Engage with the community!

Or you could be a chatterbox and amass over 100 posts a month just by involving yourself ... even where it might not be warranted. But if you have something additive, it doesn't seem like a hard requirement to meet. I too was like, damn, how am I gonna do that? And, poof, I'm at almost 800 in 7 months.

True that, but you got connections in high places too. You are, after all, from NJ 😁

Only one thousand nine hundred and seventy words to go in this reply ...
Exept I have nothing to add under this subject. Now if it was an impossible rusted watch we were discussing ...

@Scottie i see you have a poochy as your avatar. There is a pet owners thread where we post pictures and talk about our pets. Also a music thread if you’re a deadhead or a member of the Beatles like me. I had at least 375 posts of my cat hairy who recently left for the great ball of catnip in the sky. You can reach 200 posts in a fair amount of timing talking about watches, pets and music. A few other topics other than watches as well.

I need approximately 382 "pointless" arguments to even get my wife to consider my goddamn opinions on anything bro... 182 posts here to put out feelers for a watch is child's play.

One thing for sure, most of us got the "start typing" thing going well, considering all the blathering we do on a daily basis. As far as manning up and strapping on, I'll leave that to you.
